FrenchieDwemer
Hi, I was going through Gyldenhul barrow and noticed the white, creepy fires in the main chamber of the tomb, much like the ones you could typically find in Ayleid ruins or ancient fortresses in Oblivion. Considering how nonsensical it seems to find lit torchs and fires in forsaken barrows filled with undead creatures, I actually found using those "phantom" fires instead of "regular" fires would be a good way to have a bit of visibility in old tombs without having to find some rubbish explanation such as "the Draugr clean the place for their masters lul". Plus, it enhances the immersion. A haunted barrow or cave should not be illuminated by shitloads of lamps and candles as if the Dragon Priests had hired maids to keep the place ventilated, clean and lighted. Thus, my idea, as you'd have guessed, is to replace lightings in undead dungeons by spectral, Gyldenhul-like ones. If anyone felt like going on that journey, well, it'd be insanely great. I really miss the atmosphere undead lairs had in Oblivion. Thanks in advance.
Notakue
I was thinking the same thing in one dungeon, No living humans around but i was like "Who lite all these torches and fires?".

thefinn
This has bothered me from day 1 ;) You can imagine "Draugr Mum" running around keeping the fires going.
Rennn
I always thought it was the draugr's duty to keep the fires lit and invaders repelled for the glory of the eternal dragons? The main problem with dousing the fires is that the dungeon wouldn't get any darker. Most of the light in Skyrim is ambient, it doesn't usually come from light sources like candles or fires. You'd not only need to get rid of the fires, but you'd also need to manually redo the lighting in each undead dungeon. That's right, and that's why I considered using the kind of fire you can find in Gyldenhul. It would be a more credible way to have a ruin lighted. Edit : my bad. I read too quickly. I do see the problem and it would be quite the task, indeed. Well, I might as well download a mod which directly affects the overall lightings of Skyrim. I still kinda like my idea, though.
