Random disconnects Seamless Co-op (help)

When my friend and I try to join each other's game using the Tiny great pot and Effigy within 20 minutes or so the person that joins always gets disconnected. then we get a "steam has timed out" error every time we try an rejoin or it just says "you are already in a party". We have to keep closing out our game an reopening it but the issue keeps happening. We've both updated to Main files (v1.2.4)

That mod is extremely unstable and messes up the save files, just play normal CO-OP until it matures into working state.
