cecil240
Hey all, I am having an issues with my hair mod and cloak mod. When I equip a hair mod ( except for apache hair) or a cloak, it goes down to the floor all stringy. Not sure how to resolve this issue. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. cruelmelody
Hello! What mods are we actually talking about? Did you check the (in)compatibility with other mods on their respective download pages or searched for possible patches? Running it through LOOT and/or xEdit to check for errors would be helpful too if you don't find anything even on the mods' pages.
cecil240
I'm using the [Dint999] Hair pack and also tried the new egils demon hunter mod. I get the same results. LOOT showed all good, xEdit I can try, not too good with it though. Thanks.
anjenthedog
did you fit/build your hair in bodyslide? If not, try that. If so... check HDT SMP/Faster HDT (whichever you use) for problems. One thing you can try is an SMP RESET from console. If a wig, try removing the wig and putting it back on.
cecil240
I built it all in bodyslide. The HDT SMP is working without issues. I am not sure how to do the SMP RESET from console. Taking the wig off and on does not work and if I try to change the hair in the character edit, I get CTD.
anjenthedog
To perform an SMP reset, simply open console (~), then type smp reset then hit the return/enter key on your keyboard Taking the wig off and on does not work and if I try to change the hair in the character edit, I get CTD.Hmm.. well now, that's a problem. If HDT-SMP is working fine, and you've built the mod's meshes, - and that reminds me, and iff Bodyside's "build" output is being directed to the right folders, which can be an issue for those who install stuff to the non-default path) If so, visit Bodyslide & Outfit Studio's mod page. There are instructions (afaik) for properly pathing the application to the game's content when using non standard paths. Anyway..., if the above was is true, it almost sounds like you have a basic incompatibility issue with the wig mod.Is the wig mod compatible with your head type (standard vs the hi-poly)? Just like with armors and body types, or the needed SKSE variant, not all things are equal. Check for patches? If you did, skip. If you didn't, then check (on the mod page download section or in nexus file search) If that fails If you *disable* the mod (do not uninstall) providing the wigs, what happens when you load your save? Fallback to standard hair or bald head? If either, at least it hasn't compromised the game. Small "yay". So now you can investigate the wig mod further at your leisure and keep playing, or even choose a different wig mod to use. CTD? Well this one's surely an issue. re-enable and redeploy if using vortex, or re-enable and do whatever it is MO2 users do if using that manager. personally speaking, once it gets to this point, for me, I uninstall (after re-enabling & redeploying), since I can address it later, and since it also causes CTDs in addition to not working right, it's better (imo) not to leave it attached to my game at all until it's safe, be it enabled or disabled. Next step would be (for me) posting to the mod page comments section or bugs if available. Sorry I'm not more help.
