Navmeshing. why are certain floors and objects transparent

Recommended Posts

This is a headache even after spending 1000s of hours navmeshing... i havent figured it out...

Right now im doing a mod that has many multifloor buildings where as usual i start from the top and work downwards(so that there isnt a navmesh below to confuse me).

For some reason many of the floors and objects are transparent when in navmesh mode making it a headache to navmesh or make precuts etc...

Im hoping its a stupid setting that i may have overlooked...

Any input is welcome...

IIRC, CK hides Movable Statics during navmeshing. When you close navmesh mode, they reappear yes?

yes but navmeshing on a transparent floor is making my eyes bleed.. :P.

The floors are vault type...

Im wondering if it has anything to do with keywords or maybe collision . In the building next to the one in the example i have woodplat and they show up solid....but the vault floors transparent...weird

the view modes 2 and 3 (from left to right)...make the issue worse since they show the whole navmesh and finally only the navmesh....which means ill be navmeshing blind...

Those modes are only to see hidden navmesh(example under the surface of terrain or even a rug )

Whats missing is a mode to enable all surfaces and objects .

Ill have to look for a setting for transparency maybe even in the ini...because i dont see anything in the CK editor window prefs that has something to do with navmeshing..

Weird... I thought you were already in the second mode, but it actually looks like when you hide objects by pressing 1 actually.

Exactly....

Ive done over 60 locations with navmesh from scratch this has always been an issue but in this case its worse because we are talking about the floor pieces .

Im aware of certain scrappables being transparent but the floor ? Imagine having to navmesh 3-4 floors like this ?.

Ive had cases where i had to lay down a resized floor piece over the actual floor so i could navmesh and deleted it when i was done..

What happens if you create a new static using the same floor NIF?

You mean a duplicate but with a diffferent form ID

Or duplicate/rename a piece that shows and swap its nif ?

Im betting they will work but then i have to go and replace 300 pieces ive laid all over the location :P...
