[LE] Enchanting make an enchantment usable via Arcane Table

Recommended Posts

Hello dear community,

A problem I tried to figure out was to apply via Arcane Table an enchantment I customed via the creation kit.

The enchantment is a double effect on player speed and jumping capacity. The matter is that I can learn it from the destruction at the Arcane Enchanter, thanks to an item (a ring) I made, but I am not able to apply then the learnt enchantment via the same Arcane Table (e.g. the enchantment can be selected, but not applied to any piece of armor or clothing or jewelry). Did anyone ever figured out why and how to by pass this ? Thanks a lot.

Ps: Apologies about my poor english.

Hello there dear community !

I finally figured out how to allow a created enchanting to be applied using in game the Enchanting Table. In order to make one appliable in game, when you destroy the item with for instance the enchantment created with the creation kit and then apply it to another kind of object, one must first create or duplicate a form list named "Enchantment[Name of your enchantment or effect] " , then indicate the body parts that will be allowed in the enchanting process ( these are keywords, for instance "ClothingRing" or "ArmorGauntlet". After that, still in creation kit, the form list must be attached to the enchantment in itself, in the enchantment section in the Magic part. Apologies about my poor english, what I mean is that when you create an enchantment, there is a "Worn restrictions" space, you fill it with the name of the form list created, that in itself allow in game the enchantment to be applied wia the Enchanting Table.

What I do not yet figure out is how make then the enchantment increasable with you own, cheated or not, Enchanting Skill, not yet, because as this and if one do as described upper, the enchantment is applied "as it is". But still it seems a good point to know how to deal with enchantment creation, with customed enchantments. Mine there was one which increase player's walking speed.

Thanks, I will write in this topic again when I will find how to enchant taking in count the enchanting skills. ;)

Hello, I'm working on a weapon enchantment now. To have strength of the created enchantment affected by your enchanting skill, you need to check the Power Effects Magnitude box under SpellMaking in the enchantment's Magic Effect, (took me a while to figure this out.)

Hi there,

I did it but also after having checked, and figured out how to do what I wanted, the "Base enchantment" in the Enchantment. Then, giving the enchantment it's own magic effect's name, I was able to increase the enchantment power during enchanting, just with that. This means that if you want an ecnhantment to be upgradable with you enchanting skill, you need to give it a base enchantment first (I saw exactly and quickly the difference with that tip used)

I didn't first tried your trick, and I think it is not necessary in absolute, but you may be right and so I will check it once again. Thanks a lot !

EDIT: Maybe an admin could underline the process, which is not difficult in itself but took me a bit to figure out, in order to avoïd some useless pain in custom enchantment creation ? Thanks a lot dear community.

So in abstract, the process is:

To create your own enchantment and make it usable via the Enchanting Table:

- Define a formlist in relation with the name of you enchantment, with the body parts or slots keywords wanted, in order to put it in the field "Worn restrictions", that i itself seems to determine which kind of pieces or armor parts can "wear" the custom enchantment created.

- Further If you want that your enchantment grow in power with your own Enchanting Skill, just (at least for now) don't forget to specify the name of the magic effect or Enchantment in itself in the same Enchantment table, just in the field near to "Worn restrictions", field called "Base Enchantment". That seems to give the possibility to rely the magical effect on the Enchanting Skill 's level.
