Hello, I have read some reviews that say modding is difficult with AMD cards.

I would simply like to know what is not recommended to do with my card and if mods exist to improve the modding performance of AMD RDNA 2 cards

thank you.

Hello, I have read some reviews that say modding is difficult with AMD cards.

In what context did you read that? TBH, I find that sentence way too "general". Some years ago, there was some discussion about AMD GPUs and Skyrim. At that time, the game seemed to perform better with Nvidia.

AFAIK, that's not true anymore. At least not in a general sense. You need strong hardware for a modded Skyrim - GPU and CPU. I don't see any particular reason why your RX 6700 XT (which is quite a powerful card after all) shouldnt do the job.

I'd suggest you simply install, what you like, and see how it goes.

Maybe some general advice:

Notorious "performance killers" are (not necessarily in that order):

- Lots of high res textures and high polygon meshes.

- Extreme game settings (high details, high distance...)

- ENB (a high end preset can eat up a LOT of FPS)

- Physics (like body and hair physics, especially HDT / HDT-SMP)

- Extreme grass settings

- Dyndolod with high quality settings

In general, you can bring almost any system to its knees with a heavily modded Skyrim - even more so, since the game's engine is really old and was never designed for what a lot of modders do. In fact, more modern games with optimized engines often look better than Skyrim with much better performance.

On the other hand, if you're willing to make some compromises, you can get a good looking Skyrim even with mediocre hardware. Don't be afraid!
