daventry
We have Flyable Dragons without fast travel, hence you click a Location on the Map and you see yourself fly there without steering.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31325/? We also have Touring Carriages without Fast Travel, hence you click a Location on the Map and you see yourself go to that Location.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38529//? How about Horse Riding without fast travel, you sit on a Horse and click a Destination on your Map with the Horse riding itself to that Location as if the Horse is dragging a Carriage. Can that be done and you shouldent be able to steer unless you press the Use Button to stop and get off so you can get on and have Normality again. Also when you get to the Destination, you Automatically get off. Not sure if it will work if your somewhere on the Mountains (The Rift), hence a Message should pop up: No Road Near - where you must be on a Road for the Horse to go to that Location. (Solstheim is an Example, since half the Map has no road) The Locations as follow should be:CityDawnstarFalkreathMarkarthMorthalRiftenSolitudeWhiterunWindhelmWinterhold Orc VillageDushnikh YalLargashburMor KhazgurNarzulbur Inn/TavernBraidwoodNightgateOld HroldanThe Stumbling Sabrecat PlacesDayspring CanyonHigh HrothgarKarthwastenDarkwater CrossingDragon BridgeHelgenIvarsteadRiverwoodRoriksteadShor's Stone Lumber MillAnga'sHalf-moonHeartwoodMixwater i just had a thought on how to make Self Horse Riding work by watching how this Mod does it.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36701/? The Horse tracks you like a GPS and runs to you, so why not make an Invisible Character of yourself and make them Target Points around Skyrim so when we get on the Horse, a Menu pops up with City Locations, then a Whistle like Script tells the Horse to run to that Location as if we are Whistling for the Horse. wasite
Touring Carriages are not "auto-riding" -- they have no intelligence, they take a huge amount of prior setup and 6 quests and still required division into 5 short routes to beat the combinatorial math problem. So good luck with that....
daventry
So this is Impossible for Self Riding Horses then, how does Half Life 2 do it, where its Scripted so the Enemies move on the path, since i remember if you click on one of those floating Question Marks in Half Life 2 Ep1 it shows a Grid Floor. Rennn
So this is Impossible for Self Riding Horses then, how does Half Life 2 do it, where its Scripted so the Enemies move on the path, since i remember if you click on one of those floating Question Marks in Half Life 2 Ep1 it shows a Grid Floor. Half Life 2 uses the Source engine. It's a completely different engine with better pathfinding, and it's a linear game with far fewer variables and less land to consider. In Skyrim a mod like this would either be impossible or it would require so much work it wouldn't be worth the time. Rather than posting a new request every day and sending me PMs for no reason, maybe you should learn to mod and do it yourself.
daventry
Well thanks for trying guys, it wouldve been neat :P
TaeRai
That's a good point but what's wrong with jumping on a horse and fast travelling anyway? You're doing the exact same thing :/
daventry
True, but like Touring Carriages or Real time Flying Dragons, you arrive at your Destination in an Hour or two, while Fast Traveling makes you get there 6 Hours.
TaeRai
I jsut don't see the point of you asking for a mod that Skyrim pretty much already does...
daventry
Its like going to these Mods and tell them that theirs no point in their Mods, because Skyrim does that already, so how much different is my idea then those two Mods :smile:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38529/?http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31325/? They want to see the Carriage ride to their Destination and they want to see the Dragon fly to their Destination, Immersion ;) Edited December 19, 2013 by daventry
TaeRai
That's different. Touring Carriages gives an immersive experience for roleplayers while the other lets you ride a freakin' dragon, that's awesome. You pitch half-a-dozen request each week and yet, you argue with modders about what can and cant be done? How come you haven' had a go at modding yet?EDIT: And they actually made their mods, not pitched them to someone and expected them to be made.
