Hi all, long time user of mods, first time forum poster

I have a dream, a dream that if you make a mistake with a level up (and lost a pre save), you can change it!

Have you ever played as a melee combatant, but wanted to respec to a sniper without starting a new game?

I wish to wander through the wasteland and find a modified VR chamber, one where you can trade in skill points and perks, and replace them with an equivalent amount.

 

I know in oblivion there is a simple command to gain MORE skill points, but if you placed a -ve number to remove skill points it screwed things up.

 

Would someone take on the task of making this pod, so that we may trade 10 medical points for 10 barter points, trade iron fist for a feat of equivalent value?

Edit no 1:

An idea, if its too hard to work the negatives and positives, how about a way to wipe all your perks and skills, but remembering your level so the mini program can help you work from there

Would anyone have advice for doing this in G.E.C.K.

I have just installed it today . . . not sure what im doing, but if there are no takers?

Would appreciate some advice or a link if advice for a similar thing has been given.

That's a good idea, make it available once per level

And it would be best to base this around "equivalent trade"

in this game are feats organized in level categories (I assume so since you can have level prereq feats)

If so, would it be possible, so that when you trade a lvl 5 feat in, only other lvl 5 feats are visible

Maybe limit changing feats to being able to change ONE feat per level (Like in dungeons and dragons pen and paper game)

I don't think the method you're thinking of would be possible because the level up system the game uses is absolute crap

it might be possible in the future with FOSE

I do believe it would be possible another way...extremely tedious and painful, but possible

 

through scripts you could:

detect and remove all the player's level up perks and skills (the skill part could be tricky because skill points per level can change and you can also get them from books), alter any stats that may have been raised with intense training, set the player's level back to 1, and then add xp to the player until their level is back to the desired level (gaining level up perks and skill points as you go)

well, if anyone does bother doing it (it would be an interesting mod), make sure you take into account the Here and Now Perk. If treated like any other perk, someone could easily gain free levels by entering the machine, replacing one of their perks with the Here and Now perk, exiting the machine and receiving the level up, then enter the machine once more to exchange the here and now perk for a more useful perk.
