Asterra
Seriously. This will be the third time I tackle this game from beginning to end (and I've already spent a solid week just working on mods), and the game's been out for three years, but I am still having a heck of a time finding a solution to the transparency multisampling issue. For anyone who doesn't even know what I'm talking about, someone else was whining about it here: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee249/xer2k7/ScreenShot2-1.png The so called "transparency" is in fact a low-resolution dither grid. Turning it off just produces really awful results that no amount of AA seems able to do anything about: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee249/xer2k7/ScreenShot3-1.png It is probably the most glaring problem that exists with a purely vanilla New Vegas. The irony is that I can't seem to find a mod which specifically addresses the issue. Maybe it doesn't exist; maybe it's impossible. Fine. I randomly found the following screenshot (from Nevada Skies URWLified): http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/24/23225/preview.1.jpg I could not help but notice that the bushes in this screenshot are of a much more pleasing level of detail than vanilla. Matter of fact, their level of detail seems to be preventing the image from looking really awful like my second link above. Or maybe it's just a really high-res screenshot with transparency multisampling on, which was then shrunk down. Either way, those bushes would definitely help with the issue. I'm hoping somebody has seem them before and knows where to find them. Other than that, any ideas on how to fix the issue in the topic would be very welcome, and probably to more than just myself.
