Yes, I agree, that was one of the reasons that I clamped it between 20 and 80.

The other reason was that offense 1 would have resulted in worst case offset at 1000% of throw distance :)

 

After I have now played a little with this mod I'm starting to think that the offset is a wee bit too high, and will probably lower the multiplier to somewhere around 6 or 7.

I have only played like three missions with the modlet, but I agree, the deviation could be turned down a notch or two.

 

Especially the AI suffers from it because it cant understand the new mechanic and aim the radius accordingly like the human will do. But even for the human it is a bit too much of a lottery with this factor.

 

Six or seven sounds better, will try the new multiplier now.

Please report back when you have played a bit more with lowered multiplier.

I'm playing a new game from scratch on iron man and have not reached any grenade throwing aliens yet so you may likely be the only one who has actually encountered an inaccurate grenade throwing alien via the latest version.

 

If the aliens are usually hitting at least one XCom solider with grenades and sometimes more, then the multiplier is probably where it belongs.

If they are totally failing to hurt XCom more than not, then it is probably still too high.

 

I have updated the toolboks mod here to make the multiplier easy to modify:

Changed multiplier takes effect immediately, no need to start new game or anything like that.

Hi!

 

The option of grenades not hitting exactly at the clicked spot, with a reasonable chance to miss it based on soldier's Aim and distance from the target sounds wonderful. I tried to apply the latest code version from this thread, but it doesn't seem to work with XCom: Enemy Within.

 

Any chance to find an update to this mod soon?
