Launcher.. Gone?

Recommended Posts

Okay yesterday I got an error where the oblivion shortcut couldn't find the launcher. I thought nothing of it and merely made a another shortcut which works fine. But my launcher is missing and I cannot enable any new mods that I've downloaded anyone know a fix for this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you still have the old shortcut? If so examine its properties and find out exactly where it was pointing, and then find out what changed.

The default launcher for oblivion is "OblivionLauncher.exe", it has to live and start in the same directory as Oblivion.exe.

It's very mysterious that a shortcut would not be able to find it's target unless you moved something around.

Last question, Vista or XP? If Vista, try turning off UAC.

XP and I'll look its still here....

Odd... I restored the old shortcut and now its doing the same thing as the current Short cut which I made after deleteing it, skipping the Launcher.

Well, I apparently deleted my launcher some how as it is coming up as 'No results found for query "OblivionLauncher.exe"' So how can I get this back without reinstalling?

You might be able to restore it by exploring the DVD. You should see Oblivionlauncher.exe, and you might be able to get away with copying it into the proper directory.

If that doesn't work, here is a link to Bben46's Uninstall/Reinstall guide
