How about some sword techniques

This is just a suggestion I think would be awesome and it would add some variety and depth to playing as a warrior type. My suggestion is this, someone should take the power attack replacers found in monpoko's weapon skill animation mod and attach each one to a ability so while playing you could select any one you want at any time and use it like a sword technique. It would also be more compatible with other mods like Deadly Reflex, as you wouldn't be replacing your default power attack with it.

I'm not much of a scripter, but basically this would have to be done by attaching the animation with a script to an ability("Lesser Power" or "Spell", Immune to silence.) and given a damaging attribute, with some variables taken from the weapon in use, your character's attributes etc.(Drain fatigue effect, to add some kind of requirement, instead of mana use.) I'm quite sure this isn't an easy task, but doable for someone with at least a moderate amount of scripting experience, in Oblivion's "own" format.

 

This is an interesting idea though and would add some variety into basic combat.

My thoughts exactly, I unforturnately don't have the skills to do this. Maybe someone here will take the challenge, thats my hope anyway.

Somebody needs to look at this idea again. I would like some flashy sword techniques that use magicka or something. You know, I'm talking lunge attacks, rapid attacks, large area slashes, shockwaves, etc. You know what i mean? I want to be able to fight like a swordsman who uses magic should be able to fight.

Try searching "killing moon" on the nexus. Its a bit flashy but the only thing I've found. I remember a mod that did what you were talking about, or seemed to, but i got a virus and was never able to find it again on the nexus. It mentioned power rangers in the description, thats all I remember.
