gardenvariety
*RESOLVED - THANKS ANYWAY* Hey, I've had issues with Fallout 3 crashing less than a second after the first green slide appears as the game begins to load. There's no error message or anything - just a Fallout 3 Has Stopped Working pop-up - and I can't figure out what's going wrong. So far I've tried: -Disabling all mods-Disabling/Enabling GFWL-Disabling/Enabling ArchiveInvalidation Invalidation-Uninstalling FO3-Updating my drivers-Renewing the Fallout/FalloutPrefs .ini files (with mods disabled) System specs: Vista 32b; 4g RAM; NVIDIA 8800GT (with the new 185 BETA drives); Intel E6750 Core 2 Duo I bet it's something simple that I'm missing, so if anyone can give some insight I'd greatly appreciate it. Edit: FO3 is updated to 1.4.0.6 and I have absolutely no DLC. Edit 2: It WAS something simple. Sorry to waste your time! :x
Thasic
Could you please let me know what problem you were having since I seem to be having a similiar problem. Thanks.
plainswalker18
Did you get Fallout 3 from steam? If so you have to stay logged onto steam or it just keeps crashing. It took me a while to realize that.
Thasic
No, I bought a retail version, not through Steam.
Lakie
If you've installed any GUI mods, and removed them make sure that the font changes in your fallout.ini (Documents->My Games->Fallout 3) have been removed also (or just delete the whole ini, but make sure to setup your graphical options again!).Also make sure that the Games for windows live DLLs are the correct version (I found I had to delete them and run the redist from the DVD, when I updated it for the DLC, but went back to 1.0.15 for fake-patch. The former is an issue I had after reformatting. ~ Lakie
