Something very strange happened today with Vortex mod manager, any ideas what it could have been?

Recommended Posts

I had to reinstall FNIS (For Skyrim) - In the process of doing so, something vrey strange happened. A random mod appeared in my mod list for Skyrim as "Not installed."

It was a mod for fallout 4. I never played fallout 4 and I never downloaded any content for this game. Upon further invistigation I noticed some strange things. In my download list - this particular download appears as (FNIS BEHAVIOR SE 7.6.7Z) however when I right-click and 'view meta data' what appears is the meta data for a completely different mod. I will attach some screenshots so you can go over them if interested.

Here In the screenshots you can see the mod in my mod list along with the nexus mod page for the mod. As you can see, it's a completely random fallout 4 mod, with no connection to FNIS, It also states i've never downloaded the mod, in case anyone thinks it was an accident of some sort.

You can also see the mod in my download section along with the meta data (Only a 32 B sized file :geek: )

It's very strange, never seen anything like this, what could possibly even cause this?? I am really at a lost of explanation

FNIS BEHAVIOR SE 7.6.7Z is of course part of FNIS for Skyrim SE.

With the little we have to go on, it looks like the meta data for that mod got messed up on download, and Vortex misidentified it for Fallout 4.

No idea what kind of CRC goes along with meta data, but I would delete the mod and download it again.

My prediction would be that it downloads and installs correctly on a retry.
