Help With Adding Deep Cuts To Spears

I wanted to play around with allowing spears to benefit from Deep Cuts perk, under Agility tree.

It seemed as simple as adding perkDeepCuts to the Stone Spear, & that does work, but only for primary attack.

 

I liked the idea of early game throwing a spear & running like hell, ha ha (insane difficulty), & trying to balance stamina usage between heavy attack throw & running, while they bleed a bit. Like a stuck pig.

I'm at a loss here. Any insight would be appreciated.

EDIT:
Unfortunately, adding this tag to spears, has caused them to have extremely low range. Seems to have worked fine for steel knuckles.

Not sure what the heck I did, ha ha.
