Ranokoa
I am unsure if it is just my computer, however, i have a problem when i do landscape editing. Mainly with the textures. Actually completely with the textures. Whenever I am texturing a cell, it sometimes screws up and doesn't show the edits I have done to the adjacent cell. So it will appear my texture is perfectly squared around an invisible untexturable area. BUT After a while sometimes it will appear as it should with the new textures. My problem with this is, I CANT TELL WHAT IM DOING! At least i KNOW im actually doing it, but i cant see what it is im doing, so making paths with cobblestone is sloppy! Can someone help me understand how to get around this? ~Ranokoa
Vagrant0
If you are talking about just a visual issue, the cs just tends to do this. This usually happens if the cell has been altered, you've moved a few cells away, and gone back. Easiest way to fix is to just grab one of the textures you used in that cell (control rightclick I think) and briefly touch it into that cell to refresh it. If you are talking about being unable to paint textures over an area, this is because each cell is broken up into 4 quads, each quad can only have 6-8 or so different textures before it can no longer accept anything new. You can press "I" when the cell is active to see what textures are used in that cell. When doing work on a village or town, it's usually best to paint over that entire area 100%, with a ground texture that matches the sorroundings, and doesn't contain any grasses. This gives you a fresh area to work with, and also reduces the chances of having grass clipping through structures.

With the right colors you can make the textures look quiet different. You can make things darker to prounounce things like cliffs. the looks make a road of a hint of brown like its dirty. The colors are VERY nice and if use well, you can do a lot with only a few textures.
TheTerminator2004
Another way to make space for a new texture is to do what Vagrant0 said and press I to bring up the list of textures, looking at which ones are barely used (in most vanilla cells, theres always a few textures which are only used on 1 or 2% of the quad at most, to highlight something or whatever), then delete one by either selecting it and pressing the del key, or right clicking -> delete (I forget which it is, been a while since I've done it).
