Yogogamer
A wild west pack would be very awesome with clothes and weapons, i imagine an outlaw josey wales or Jonah hex type character. i can imagine standing on a hill overlooking Goodsprings with the Sun at my back facing down some powder ganger desperado's at high noon. I would say " Go ahead and skin those smoke wagons if your spines aint as yellow as your belly's. " Yep, good stuff. I'v collected a lot of old west themed asset permissions for my Sunset Sarsaparilla's Wild Wild West World, as well as some original assets. There's no reason we can't apply them to the player to get a post-apocalyptic cowboy. Also here's one I forgot about that was made based on Roland (from King's dark tower) of Gilead's Sandalwood Grip Revolver. Here is a pic of it; http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/GunsofDeschain_zpsb7866f12.jpg But on a larger theme, I'd like to make the light fallout armors fit a more western theme and make them mix and match better with that style in mind. Put a little spin on them so that even something high tech, like the stealth suit (chinese and OWB) can have that gritty apocalyptic cowboy feel. And of course some of the armor's like the ranger dusters already make great candidates with minor tweaking. As an example you can see with a bit of tweaking we can put the sherrif's hat on properly for the elite riot gear armor (small retex on the colors). It's a small tweak but it looks a lot better than the helmet showing through the sherrifs hat (as it does in the first pic). Pics; http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/EliteDark_zps5e09e98a.jpg fixed pic; http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/EliteDarkHat_zps37d7ccd1.jpg And then we pair that with another mod concept I'm working on to display the weapons you have in inventory on your person (so you can have a couple of rifles showing, a couple of pistols and a knife and/or saber showing at the same time). A new variant of thatgun using .308 (it's a heavy mofo), etc etc. Anyway guess I don't have to say it, but yeah, big into the nuclear cowboy thing. That looks awesome! Are you still working on SSWWW? I remember being reading that and getting excited
DylanF1
I would love to see that Sunset Sarsaparilla's Wild Wild West World! I have always wanted an old west themed mod for New Vegas!
Morgwynn
One thing that would be cool for western themed mod for Fallout New Vegas are spittoons and chewing tobacco animations ( Spitting ).
DylanF1
I agree and having the old time saloon swinging open gate doors would be awesome!
devinpatterson
That looks awesome! Are you still working on SSWWW? I remember being reading that and getting excited I think SSWWW would be a *lot* of fun  I havn't worke directly on it for a while. I was trying to get back into modding after a fairly long break and then Sept was a really, really crappy month for me. Almost everything I was working on for fallout came to a stop. So now I'm trying to gear up again. And while I havn't worked specifically on SSWWW, a lot of the things I'v learned (especially recently) will definitely apply to the amusement park. For instance niVisControllers let an object on an actor appear/disappear. We take that for granted with human actors, because the game engine lets you put a hat or clothes on no sweat for people. But when it comes to creatures, like for instance bots, to make even minor changes to their model means a whole new model. So if you want a protectron to put on a cowboy hat you have to actually swap out to different actors....just for a hat  The niVisController nodes are a way around that allowing our protectron to take his 10 gallon hat on and off, draw pistols and holster them, a fiery red dome when the bot is mad etc. Giving me almost as much flexibility as a human changing equipment. That's going to go a long way for the western themed bots. And I have a lot of new assets too. Like fireflys for the park (pic;) http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/Bloatfireflies_zpsa9f166ef.jpg http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/Bloatfirefliesatnight_zpsa1dda7d9.jpg , a bombardier wasp (based on a bombardier beetle, has a pretty hefty kick to it), more advanced bot models (that are also used in my OWB expansion), weapons, armor etc. Mostly it's a time and motivation problem. But one thing that really motivates me to work on a mod is great ideas. So if you guys were to chime in on the thread with some brainstorming I think that would help a lot to get me going. I know that's a tall order with 70+ pages. It's a lot, even if you just skim it. But I'll try to summarize it tonight and put it on the first page of the thread when I'm done. I would love to see that Sunset Sarsaparilla's Wild Wild West World! I have always wanted an old west themed mod for New Vegas! It's a great way to introduce some old western themed ideas and items in a lore friendly way. Plus it would just be a heck of a lot of fun playing a wasteland desperado in a apocalyptic spaghetti western  One thing that would be cool for western themed mod for Fallout New Vegas are spittoons and chewing tobacco animations ( Spitting ). I probably won't be doing any new animations anytime soon. I tried one in blender with a protectron and it wasn't as bad/time consuming as I thought it would be. But I was never able to get it to work in game. So there is still stuff I need to learn.....apparently

devinpatterson
I can't wait until SSWWW comes out! Looks like a lot of fun!But no need to wait. Head over to the thread and contribute Ideas you want to see. The prequale or part 0, is a revamp of sunset headquarters (it sets up the park storyline and introduces a few of the new critters, so the player has a bit of a heads up before the lead starts flying in earnest) and it was almost done before I took a break. So it shouldn't take very long to get it finished and in the hands of players. I'll try to make a few posts on the thread tonight (including a summation and new intro), when I get home from work. DylanF1
I am terrible at modding! I want to make my own faction for the Desert Rangers and add a small group of them to the wasteland, but i am failing at that.
