BossDweebe
I don't think we are getting enough information. What kind and model MB do you have ?If your MB is also "archaic" you will not be able to use your processor.I assume that when you say 2X processors you mean dual core. The early dual core processor for AMD is socket 939, and is not compatiblewith newer MB's. I am not familiar with Intel. I can promise you that if you have a pci graphics card that you would not be able to run Oblivion at all.It would not have the shaders or be DX9 compatable. In addition there is no way a pci card would have 512RAM.Look at your MB - White slots are pci / Blue = pci-e / Black =AGP AGP yes. and a very few new cards are still being madefor AGP, but one or two manufactures are actually making current models in AGP. Having said all that. I run Oblivion well enough with a 939 MB and Opteron 180 @ 2.4along with an Nvidia 8800GT (Very good card for the money) and 2Gig's Corsair XMS RAMand 520W Corsair psu. Yes Oblivion is power hungry, but so are most of the games that followed. What makes Oblivionjust a bit more than some of the newcomers is the addition of a lot of Hi Res mods. This boost it's RAM requirements well beyond vanilla Oblivion. dezdimona
Well i appreciate the comments and answers, i really do. I think for now I'll have to yield to the unbearably ridiculous demands from oblivion. on a lighter note and slightly off topic, new pc!anybody got a good website? and if i built one from scratch, would i be able to salvage my 2 processors? 2X 3.0 gh is quite a bit, and thats the only thing making my pc worth whiletry CyberPower
