SSE Change preset via script?

I haven't fully stepped into the scripting side of modding for Skyrim but before I try I'd like to know if anyone knows a way to change character presets (race menu but without manually using it) using scripts which could be activated during or at the end of a quest.

 

For example, I'd like to automate changing my characters appearance in order to simulate the passage of time in the game after a custom quest is played out (like an alternative start/intro to Skyrim)

If you have racemenu installed, the chargen script has SavePreset and LoadPreset functions.
