jemiari
I've hit upon a strange issue. I have the Rusty Items mod installed; the Rusty Iron Shortsword and the Rusty Mace display error markers on the ground. I've double-checked the paths and all that in the CS, made sure that the textures are all in the correct directory. I'm sure everything is in order. And yet the respective meshes refuse to load for these two items. The rest of the rusty weapons seem to be fine. Some advice would be appreciated. Thanks. BossDweebe
When you checked the path in CS did you just look at the tabto confirm the path, or did you click on it and navigate to the mesh ?You said you made sure the textures were in the correct directory.Same with the meshes ? jemiari
Yes, I checked the meshes first, in fact.
dezdimona
have you tried opening the meshes in nifSkope and making sure all the paths match in it?Have you added other mods before or after the installation of this one as a mesh may have gotten borked. jemiari
What exactly should I check for? The paths to the textures seem to match. I've even tried reinstalling the meshes/textures multiple times and I still get a bright yellow error marker (which I modded to something smaller and less conspicuous to avoid the sheer unsightliness). BossDweebe
Are you sure the missing meshes are from the mod in question ?Enter console and click on the WTF and check the name. Meshes do not just refuse to load. Something has to be wrong, and it is most likely that the mesh has somehow wound up in the wrongfolder.I will stress again. The path that shows on the tab is where the esp saysit should be. If it is not where it should be then when you try to navigate to that particular spot you will not find it. If you do find it in another placeyou can either move it to where it was supposed to be- best, or leave it and save the esp to amend the location and it should work. The same applies with textures in NifScope. Sometimes a mod will have the path to a texture starting with C:\Programs. This will not work if your game isinstalled to D:\Games. All texture paths in the NifScope Block List. should start with - textures\------
myrmaad
BossDweebe gave excellent feedback. On top of that, it might help if you posted the link to the exact mod you dowloaded, I checked and there are five different rusty weapon mods around. jemiari
I've tried all the above methods and nothing seems to work. The mod in question is this (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7190) one. I even downloaded the FormID Finder mod to confirm the path. Sometimes it says the mod is from MMM. Sometimes it says it's from the Oblivion.esm. Can't wrap my head around it. On a somewhat related note, I have gotten several all-black textures when looking at scenery from a distance (view distance is maxed). This only happens from certain angles, for some reason. And in the starting dungeon, my cell, I may have gotten what is commonly known as the terrible Nvidia Black Screen Bug, but probably not because the sudden blackness only happened when I stood in a certain spot and looked from a certain angle - when I looked someplace else, it immediately vanished. myrmaad
Black artifacts have to do with your Distant LOD, It turned up in my game after I first installed Qarl's textures, I forget exactly what I did to fix it. Google Oblivion black artifacts and LOD or Distant LOD and see if that doesn't turn up a solution. It was an easy fix that's why I think I can't remember it. It is NOT the Nvidia black screen bug, so don't worry about that. I just looked at the mod, thanks for posting the link. The weapons meshes are correctly mapped to textures\weapons\rust\ What is the full path to your textures folder please? (starting with the drive C:/ or D:/ or whatever it is) Please post it. Best to copy and paste it here so there are no mistakes; While you're looking at it, look in side the rust subdirectory and examine the files in there. There should be 10 files. Finally put the Rusty weapons mod far below any MMM mods in your load order. Like near the bottom or at the bottom. What system did you say you were using? jemiari
I'm using Vista and I had UAE turned off at one point to see if it would help - didn't, so I switched back (is it even that important for security reasons to keep UAE on? Because I haven't been using Vista long enough to not find it annoying). And here is my Oblivion path: C:\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures Thanks for all the speedy reponses. EDIT: The RustyItems mod has always been pretty far down on my load list, like towards the end. EDIT: There are indeed ten files in the textures/weapons/rust directory.
