Interiors with real exterior-view windows

Sadly, I don't have max, I have maya, and if anyone has a plugin for maya NIF import... please tell me, my mind rushes with ideas, but MAX is way out of my budget...

If anyone wants a model of a house made, send it to me or post it here, I like modding, for free even... just need the details on location, style and a plan I can clearly understand.

and um, Ninja salad, are you refering to me as the "great modder"? I'm no great modder yet, this is my second released mod.... the first one is truce fro CT posted here in MW source.

don't you dare inflate my ego... my GF's gonna hunt you down with a vengeance.... lol

Hold on! You have a girlfriend, AND you have the time to post here? No fair! What I meant was that it might be possible to make buildings part of an exterior cell, and turn off weather when you were in a building. I'll see if I can do it, and if I can, the rain/snow object could work nicely! One thing, though: would it have the same lag problems as the propylons?

I have an understanding GF, but enough of that...

when you create an exterior cell, just click "behave like exterior"

then I just had to make the weather always clear (100% clear) and link the interior cell to the region you created.

if I had it snow in that perticular region it would snow outside, but inside as well.

that's the dilema, so particle projectors or this texture rotation trick would do... but i'd need a script so that when it snows in th exterior cell the house is in... it snow in the interior cell... same for clear weather.

I need help for someone with 3d studio Max I think...

Another thing that would be cool, it for the windows to actually be textured with whatever goes on outside, kinda like a security camera. so you could also see people walking, and creatures.

this is getting complex, and I have no tools I can use.

I received your second file. Thanks again.

When I tried loading the save game of my current character I got the following error message:

Expression error Unable to find cell ID "Solstheim, Isinfier Plains" in script ho_Wildsound Main.

The loading immediately ended at that point. I then tried loading the game using a saved game that had no mods, just MW and the 2 expansions. It loaded fine. I didn't research what mod was conflicting.

The house itself is unique. The high ceilings and the openess gives it a feel of an Alpine lodge. Very clever what you did with the wine racks. :) The water meshes work perfectly. The windows are breathtaking. They are definately the focal point of the house. The view looks very realistic. So realistic I was shocked when I first stepped outside and there was a blizzard. It would be cool to figure out a way to see snow falling when you look out the windows.

If I were to use this mod in my game as it is right now, I would probably redecorate and rearrange the furnishings first. Nothing personal, the furnishings are adequate.

I noticed some empty cells in the CS. Are you going to be adding rooms to this place? I hope you continue. I have a few projects I've been working on involving interior cells acting like exterior ones, so I'm always interested in these type of mods.

No, the only thing you need is the loving that only a walrus, a week-old stick of butter, and an old sock can provide. A two-dimensional square mesh is already avaliable, and it's used in in_om_floor_512, I believe. All you need to do is create textures and use NIFTexture to finish the act.

Yeah... Another thing that'd be cool would be the ability to script for every object in the game, which is what a feat such as that would require.

the other cells are failed versions of a previous mod, which I din't include in the one I sent you, it was an asteroid base... pretty cool, but it got old quickly, nothing special about the inside... but thanks for blowin sunshine my way... send me your versions.. I'd like to see pics when you're done... just if you want.

One thing I thought would be cool is: increase the odds of geting good weather all over morrowind, then do this for all windows in morrowind.... since seyda neen style houses, ald-ruhn style houses, and pretty much any house cept for Nord and imperial houses don't have any windows... so we'd modify, pelegiad, and othe imperial cities, and all nord vilages... it wouldn't be that tough, but I have the patience of an impact grenade, so i'd need help.

and if you look at a window from outside, usualy, you can't see inside unless you get REAL close so we only need to mod the inside.

as for rain possibility... it's too dark and dreary in morrowind anyway...

And marxist... your sarcasm is a bit irritating. This may be a public forum, but please abstain yourself, if only a bit, from vexing me. I enjoy constructive comments as much as anybody else, but mockeries on where my skills lack I don't think anyone would enjoy...

Well, it is constructive... If you were to get chummy with a programmer, he could make an application that could read the records of all relevant objects before Morrowind is run, insert compiled code in all the records, and then modify FreshFish's script extender sources, the end result being the ability to attach a script to every relevant object, and then placing those objects in your cell when it is appropriate.

...And how would you get chummy with a pregrammer, you ask? Simple. That's where the well-lubricated walrus and sock come into play.

Well I've added an open Library level above the floors of the living area of the mansion... the update is perfectly compatible with my first mansion esp.

The character seen in the picture is Destin... my character... and the original owner of the house.
