Extracting BSA files for Vista 64-bit users

I have Vista x64 and it sucks. I end up having to do things the hard way. But anyways, here's how I extract my .bsa files:

What you will need:

-Hex Editor

-Oblivion BSA Commander

What you will do:

What the BSA Commander does is look for the version number of your BSA file. Here is a step by step instruction on how to change your version number:

1. Open HEX Editor

2. Load the BSA file (In this case Anchorage - Main.bsa)

3. Find the 5th byte (the way bytes work is simple. they go down the line from start to finish. so the first line would be our first 8 bytes.) which should be the number 68.

3a. This number is important. That's the actual version number.

4. To change this simply highlight it and type 67. (The version number BSA Commander looks for)

Open up BSA Commander and Open up your Anchorage-Main.bsa (Or whatever you are unpacking) and extract it.

Hope this helped.

Interesting. I use Vista 64 and have no problem extracting BSA files with the Fallout Mod Manager that I believe I downloaded from this site.
