Can you help me decide which one should I start?

FNV or FO3? (I will add mods)

I posted a similar post in the bethesda FNV forums.

I have played both games and modded them both in the past. One year later (now), I want to start a new playthrough with one of them.

I want information on the modding scene of each game and would appreciate your opinion on which I should start.

I can't decide which I should start modding. I like FO3's "urban" map better but FNV is the newer game and I assume it will have a better modding scene and some other benefits.

If you also want, suggest some good (not so mainstream because I would probably know them) mods for each game.

My general preferences are towards immersion, difficulty, realism and content.

hi Seremoth,

i like and have played both. on a personal note i liked FO3 better because it was all new back then and I prefer the urban setting. but that's just a personal appreciation.

there is no right answer to your question me thinks. just follow your heart :D

I beat New vegas on the console Xbox 360 and all the dlc's i decided to start on the pc again using mods but since i had played it so much and there's only so much you can do to change a story it can get boring. As amazing as alot of these games are unless you can see yourself wanting to re-do alot of things youve done again with a few tweaks its really not too much you can do.

I had over 300 hours on new vegas. And about 3 characters. Between my first and 2nd character i had roughly about 150/160 hours each One was for caesars legion and another was for the NCR. The 3rd i just went with mr house, i didnt really just feel like doing all the sidequests again or half of the DLC's though for my 3rd character. It was fun but idk..its just something about the FO3 now on the PC with all these new mods that has me interested. After a while though i figure ill go and try oblivion with mods and then when i get A higher end PC i may try Skyrim possibly, There was a pretty cool mod i saw that added alot more interesting monsters.

The only thing i wish was a bit different was the fighting system with melee weapons. I hope in the next fallout game they add different styles and such, As well as dual wielding. But its really up to you, i originally started off playing FNV but some of the newer mods seemed a little unstable maybe for you they may work better but i decided to come back to FO3 when i saw it had more mods (At least at the time the Nexus mods showed more mods for FO3 versus FNV.) That seem to work well. As stated above there is no right answer to this..follow your gamer spirit.
