fishyfishyfishy
I noticed that some of the mods I downloaded didn't show up in the game even though I had them active in obmm. I thought I had done something improperly somewhere until I read the readme. B/c I have windows vista, I had to turn off the UAC so vista wouldn't mess with things. I did so, and had no more issues with mods not showing up. When I logged off my admin account and let one of the other users (not an admin) log in to play, things got uglier than they were before. When they tried to load their game from their already existing save, they got this message. "None of the master files used in this save game are loaded. Returning to game." I figured that I had to turn all the mods back on for that user through obmm. When I opened the desktop shortcut I received a bunch more error messages for all of the mods I had that said "Error: File <mod name> does not appear to be a valid TES4 plugin". This message appeared over and over, one after another for each and every mod before it loaded obmm, in limited user mode even though I selected run as administrator. This is happening for all users except my admin account; where it is working just fine. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. bben46
You have to turn UAC off for EACH account separately. That is one of the reasons I recommend installing somewhere besides the default location. UAC protects files in the programs folder from changes. fishyfishyfishy
Ok, do I have to reinstall it or can I just move all of the oblivion files to a new area.. Like "C:\games\oblivion". And if I do need to reinstall it, will it delete my saved games? Also, how would I give all the other users write access to the new directory? bben46
I'm not sure as I don't use Vista. You could try just moving the folder first. If that works, then we can find a way to give full access to your other users. If not, here is a link to my procedure for uninstalling and reinstalling without losing any mods or saves.http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibr.../1446421/1/#new One problem with having multiple users though is each one may have to maintain their own version of OBMM if they use different mods. Also, if you have multiple people downloading from the same computer with different Nexus accounts you will need to let us know so we don't delete them as duplicate accounts. You cannot just move the files, Vista will protect them in the "Programs" directory. Use Bbens uninstall/Reinstall guide, reinstall in a non-default directory. Before you do this backup your save games into a temporary directory. Do the procedure, start a game (from within your account) save it. Then copy your savegames into the newly created ...\documents\my games\Oblivion\saves folder. If anyone else has played, let them start over from their own account
