Trolloverlord
So How do I use papyrus to troubleshoot what mods are conflicting or causing CTD's and freezes? Or what are ways that you guys would recommend? I have wrye bash, Boss, TES5 Edit and I just installed creation kit but I am not sure how to use papyrus to troubleshoot while I am playing I already cleaned my mods and everything with TES5 and used wrye and boss for load order. Basically my game is heavily modded over 100 mods I just need to see whats going on in that aspect now. If that doesnt solve my problems I know I need to get better cooling for my CPU and possibly my GPU they are very powerful and generate a lot of heat under load. I need to get liquid cooling but that will be the last step. I basically want to see a list of where things went wrong like with TES5 Edit. Thanks guys! :)
Tulsa299
I don't know much about papyrus but don't always worry if you get an error, it's not necessarily a bad thing.. also check out a program called ATTK I'm not well versed with it yet but It seems to help in not taxing your gpu also, local supermarket a few ice packs, some common sense... cheap cooling all the way :)
Soresu
Well, the papyrus is really hard to interprete for most users. Or so I'm told anyway. I've been trying to learn how to make sense of it but could only manage to learn a few basic stuff so far. As fa as I know, not all errors/warnings are meant to be critical and should not pose a threat. Also not all errors/warnings are mod related, some are caused by vanilla game. So in the end, if you have some serious CTDs, bugs etc and you believe they are caused by some mods, checking the errors related to that mod might give you some idea, if you see repeated errors by the same mod etc. If you can recognise the name of the mods in the error lines. Then can you try to uninstall that mod, wait a few mins in game and then check your log again. If the errors are gone and game functions normally, you found the bad mod. But some mods leave permanent damage (missing scripts, files etc) behind, so even if you uninstall them you might want to consider loading a save before you installed that mod. I recently had CTDs and my log was full or errors caused by various of mods (note that I installed and removed quite a bit of mods on the same game over time) and ended up corrupting my saves. Removing the mods did not solve anything so I had to do a full reinstall of Skyrim. I still have roughly 80 mods at the moment. I still see many errors/warnings. But the game 'seems' to be working fine. But there's no guarantee that something will not pop up in the future. That's just the reality of using mods, when you use more than one, there's always a risk. Especially if they contain scripts. I know it's not much of a help but that's all I can say with my limited knowledge.
