SoulExistence
:help: Ok, now i am having a serious issue with the vampires i have found, both wild and of the ... quarra clan. They keep freakin getting up!! i kill them, and i kill them, and i use Lilarcor at +10, and i use a silver flame blade, and when i hit them when they're down, their hit points jump up! i don't get it. i even beat the poor blood sucking fool with my bare hands, and it did the same. she runs out, and then it fills up. the entire thing, their magic and their fatigue and everything. kill her, she gets back up and can conjure another freakin clanfear. sure, it dies in two hits from lilarcor, but she should have been out, and too tired to do it. now, i know the one time i got vampirism from that stupid ring mod from seyda neen, the vampire hunters were able to kill me dead. i didn't get back up. <_< i figured it would mention it somewhere in one of the books, and was feeling stupid for not reading Vampires of Vardenfel v.I & II, so i went back and found them, and ... ... they don't tell me. i look in the strategy guides and it says, "Once you kill <random vampire>..." but doesn't say how to do it.  !!wtf!! so my question is: what weapon or spell do i use to make them stay dead? <_< 'cuz a silver weapon sounds like the obvious thing, and if that didnt work, then fire. but a silver flame blade wasn't doing it. :bye:
Abramul
Vampires have a 50% weakness to fire, so yes, flame is good. They ALSO have a Absorb Health spell, so that might be the problem. However, if they actually DIE and then get up, the thing to do is dispose of their body the first time they are actually dead. I've gotten rid of Spriggans that way... Please, less smilies! Dilvish
Vampires are stronger than regular NPCs but they don't normally heal themselves the way you're describing. They might be able to absorb some health from your character but normally not enough to max out their own health after being badly wounded. They have a 50% resistance to normal weapons but a silver flameblade and a strong arm should finish them off easily. I never used Lilarcor. I've heard it's semi-uber at L-10 though. You may have some bug related to one of your mods. Do you still have the stupid vampire ring in Seyda Neen installed? Any other vampire mods?Do you have some constant effect restore enchantments that are affecting the vampires?I hope the vampires haven't learned to use TGM! If they have, we're all doomed. Malchik
Sounds like a mod is affecting things. I've never had a problem with self-resurrecting vampires. Check what mods are you playing at the moment that might affect it and turn them off one by one.
SoulExistence
yeah, that sounds right. i couldn't figure it out. i didnt figure they were supposed to keep getting up. i think i still have the ring plugin on, but i don't know if that's it. it just really sucked to see them keep getting up. i checked it in the tes, and the wild vampire had the respawn button checked, but i thought that was a little crazy. thanks, guys. i'll check the plugins and let you know. Reiel
Probably a mod, I dont associate vampires with my game, mods that is. Try turning off vamp-relatewd mods,
dunmer_jediknight
of course there is one nice thing with the vamps when they keep poping back on their feet. you could most likely level up one just one ^_^ .
Abramul
Actually, if you have Vampire Realism, you might have to stake them.
Cheesemonger
How would one stake them? Turn off all the mods you are running, start the game, fight a vamp and see what happens, thne turn one on and repeat. Do this until you find the mod of screwiness. Not very efficient, but it works for me I have 10> mods)
Abramul
No, better to:1. SAVE A COPY OF YOUR GAME2. Get to a vampire lair, probably one of the tombs would be best.3. Use TESAME to check your plugins for vampire settings/scripts/etc4. Turn off only the plugins with vampire references5. Load your game, and test the lair.
