P1NK N1NJ4
i hate how big-time companies never have good help pages... i wanted to get photoshop to do some texturing work, so i looked for the cheapest version i could find. I found photoshop elements 7, and I was wondering if the dds plugin works with it. also, does brushesdownload.com work with elements 7? i'm pretty sure they do, but i just wanted to make sure. :thanks:
t3hf4ll0ut
The plugin is for Photoshop CS2 and up. Not sure were Elements is in that. BUT CS2 is SUPER cheap to come by now-a-days and it's great for what you're trying to do. I remember seeing CS2 for $50. Elements does work with those brushes btw. Skree000
elements is the 'looks fancy but only does 3% of what photoshop is capable of' package. I would get the full photoshop asap, its uber :) Elements is... not really photoshop... its only really for touching up photographs with very minor effects and filters.Im sure you can get your hands on it somehow.... dthumb
What about GIMP? It's free, has a DDS plugin and I heard you can make normal maps with it. But I've never tried it. :P
t3hf4ll0ut
GIMP takes a lot more skill then Photoshop would. I learned all functions of Photoshop in around a month... GIMP however was about 4-5. But yes, GIMP is good to use while you save up money, or if you save up any at all.
