Black eye NPC syndrome......

Oh wow. Im sorry....Uh...

deactivate that mod, and see if things go back to the previous state of slightly less broken...

If you can get to that point then I would try a reinstall of the game.

The only other thing i can think of is that there was a problem with your archive invalidation...for the longest time whenever i tried to do an archive invalidation it would actually make my textures and meshes go missing....i found that the method i was using isnt right, i was using BSA invalidation...you should be using BSA alteration...atleast thats the one that worked no problems for this one.

In your OBMM, go to utilities -> archive invalidation.

Tic BSA alteration, and make sure only textures are checked. then make sure that generate archiveinvalidation entires on hash is also checked.

Click update now, and your done.

ok, trying that, wow, thanks for the handhold...I`m gonna have to do this with my friends in a bit.

Run oblivion, try that.

Most eye problems are related to having too many 'beauty' type mods installed. Each one wants to control how the eyes look and you get something strange. black eyes, no eyes, googly eyes, strange color etc. Look for mods such as 'beautiful people' and any custom race mod. disable all of them and see if you get the vanilla eyes back. Then reinstall the mods one at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem.

yep, that is my solution now as the last attempt to starighten it out has given me the googly eye problem. I think Ive been running this too long as it was, it is due a re-install, but I will try what you say first, and pass that on as it seems to happen between exnem and hgec. One sorts out the "shoulders" of the other...but I am starting to wonder why I was told that was a good idea in the first place....hmmm, anyway, I thank you all for the assistance, its getting clearer to me that simply taking slower steps and running through due process, one mod at a time is the most basic of disciplines I have to incorperate in my modding. I do it with one game, I really dont know why I dont with my tester set up. Thanks for your patience and understanding :thanks:

( I took the liberty of joining your library, hope thats ok?)

Dont run Exnem and HGEC together.

HGEC is more of an upgrade from exnems...also, dont believe them when they say you need exnem first to get HGEC. through countless total reinstalls (Data folder whipes and all) i havnt downloaded exnems body once since HGEC came out, just get a high resolution texture with it and you wont need exnems body at all.

wow, when I first jumped in here I had some advice that now looks a bit, well, innaccurate shall we say, I dont want to be nasty, it was a friend and alot of what they did for me was good, but this has been on my test game since dot, I didnt worry about it till my friends started having the same problem. nearly all the mods I use, clothing armour and wotnot are exnem compatable...damm, I am going to have to do a new list. hi res texture? ok, I really am going to have to rethink my re-hash of my modding list...rrrr, never mind lessons learnt.

hold on, its an upgrade, so...does that mean clothing compatable? armour and so forth?

Yes, all exnemised clothing and armor is compatible, youll just notice subtle body shape differences between being naked and being clothed, you can only see it when you are looking really close

thank the nines for that small mercy...ok, I am really grateful to you for the advice. I hadnt paid attention to the problem as it wasnt getting in the way of my testing but I think its time I sorted it proper. I am linking my friends to this thread so they can get the idea, I think ones fallen asleep on me...Lol

I have literally spent the whole day downloading all the mods I have chosen for the post installation. I think I will take the game back to vannilla and see how it is on a vannilla save game I have, then decide what I am going to do, but I have heard that can cause its own problems, removing mods?

It can sometimes, If you are going to remove a bunch of mods, the best thing to do is either unequip everything on your character, and go to an interior location that is not part of a mod. (a vanilla houses basement?). then systematically delete your mods. Becareful doing this, as I caused file corruption and broke oblivion in general doing this, forcing me to start a new game.

My suggestion really is to delete everything you dont want, and start a new game with the mods you dont want gone, to avoid any complications.

will do, looks like my friend (A) will be having a worse time than me, he has a serious rig and has gone "mod-happy", but he has got to sort it out now as crashes have become critical. Ok, thank you once again, great to have a few new tips to work with when I have the coffee on.... feel free to pm me if you think of anything else, if you want you can tell me what mods you are into and if I come across anything....

:thanks:
