scottym23
My graphics card died pretty much and I need a new one, but the one I had is discontinued and it had some lag issues anyway (it was a really old card). I'd like to buy one that runs Skyrim well (not flawlessly with 10 ENBs and 500 mods, just lag free on vanilla version). The problem is I know next to nothing about computers and their components, so I don't know what to buy for the most bang for my buck. I'm not in a strong financial point in my life however, so I can't afford anything close to the best which is why i'm asking what the least expensive card I could get that would do it's job on games like Skyrim would be. Thanks for reading and i'd appreciate the help!
Rennn
We need to know what your old video card was, what your power supply unit is, and what pc case you have. For most people I would say a GTX 650 TI, but I still need to know the information I asked for. Edited October 21, 2013 by Rennn
SGTxLightning
I've a GTX Ge 550ti and it runs Skyrim well enough for me.My brother has the MSI 660 Twin Frozr. But then again I'm not a graphics junkie or picky about details. Long as I can play, I'm good. What kind of card did you have previously? Edited October 21, 2013 by SGTxLightning
spz2
Wait until after the holidays when prices will drop then get the GT 760 . At the time it's twice the price of the 650Ti but with twice its performance also . This is true for todays times , when buying cards also consider the future , because in the future games will be optimized for newer technology so i say twice the price but more than twice the performance , because future games will run much faster on the new technology . But alas 650 will suffice for Skyrim i agree , but if you want the best bang for the buck get the 760 like i said . Here's a chart that may help , look at the second one, "VIdeocard Value" : http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+650+Ti . We don't know if his case will fit a 760, and we don't know if his PSU will handle it. He could put in a 760 only to have his PSU die.
spz2
Oh yeah , forgot about it , a 500 watt power supply needed for a GTX 760 but a sandard 400watt one may suffice depending on what the rest of your components are . A 400 watt power supply may slow your system down a bit if it cannot meet power demands of your components .
