But if you recruit someone let's say a NCR Soldier and control him.. The fun adventure could start.. Start of the mod: You would get a misc item (microchip etc) to put it in/on your companion and if you want to you can control him/her simply from your pipboy 3000 so you would see yourself for example sitting on a bench and looking at your pipboy 3000 while controlling a companion. I think it would be possible since there are varius mods that make your character a npc for example animated sleeping mod where your character goes to sleep in sandbox mode. As the adventure would begin, you could train your companion to have exp while your character is eating popcorn and watching/controlling what you do, let's say your companion dies in a heavy fight you see a death though... The game will not end you will see a scrambling screen and will be teleported back to your pipboy menu for example and then you can save his/her body from the dangerous ally and rescue him/her.. Also you could control characters who you would have wanted to be without trying to create your character to be a copy of Sunny Smiles for example. Also having different companions would give different results, if your companion has pipboy he/she can use V.A.T.S if not then no, some would be skilled some not. What else: The mod could expand to missions, you plant microchip (ie: Fiend) and control him/her to kill someone else without him knowing what he/she is doing at all. What to expect: I know that this mod would be pretty hard to do maybe and even impossible but I think it would be epic.. Like you could control a dog lol woot.. devinpatterson Posted October 21, 2013 Share Posted October 21, 2013 One way it might be possible to do something *similar* to what your suggesting is a type of disguise as an armor/outfit and face preset. I don't believe there is currently any way to control another character via the player controls (and I could be completely wrong about this, VaultMP - Vault-Tec Multiplayer for instance allows two players in one game). But anything that could be rigged to a player skeleton could probably be impersonated to some degree. The whole body can be done via a armor/outfit and if the face preset was adopted as well as other details (karma, reputation etc) of the target (and the target was temporarily moved to a holding cell) it would be a credible imitation of him/her or it. Of course this would mean a lot of work since each character that you would be able to assume would have to have a hand crafted (read = work) disguise made. And there may be a reason(s) why it may not work, but it's the only feasible method I can think of, off the top of my head. You could also spawn a clone of yourself when your in disguise and have it in sandbox mode....to complete the illusion. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

OK took a look at it. It uses a similar method to lilisims rideable creatures mod and changes the player scale (so s/he doesn't show up atop the bot). Essentially you restrain the actor (for the purposes of this mod, lets call it the "mount") and when the player moves left the left animation of the mount plays while the script moves the mount left. That script will allow you to posses any creature, but there are serious limitations, especially if you want to interact with another character, open a door etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I saw in some army game where you were running somewhere and another squad member in group would get switched over while following, it would be tactical and fun for me atleast.The main thing that I would like is just to control moving stealth state and firing/attacking because if I can't open doors or open inventory I can go to my character view and let him/her follow through.. It would be also nice to use it on animals and robots yes, bite throats with rex or willows mod dog JT, laser that ass with ED-E or what his name was.. Just so many ideas, but so hard to accomplish.. Well the problem (not opening doors etc) comes about because the script uses disablePlayerControls to keep the player from moving while the script essentially does the movement of hte player (let's call him/her the rider) centered over the mount. The rider can't interact with world objects and other flags will prevent/disable controls like stealth. Although if the NPC has stealth animations I think that could potentially be worked into the script so the "mount" appears to be sneaking. But as is you won't be able to sneak, speak to other character etc. Firing a weapon is also a work around so it seems rather clumsy (from the description, I haven't actually played the mod). But if you want to, I can look into adapting it and contact the author of the mod, as well as Jazzisparis who helped with the scripting. EDIT: took out references to lilisims's script.
