Simple Problem

So I'm to make a very simple room for testing purposes. I duplicate the cell, ya-da-da. Following this tutorial http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Bethsof...rial_GECK_Setup however. After I've linked my one door to the outside world and a hatch linked to my Vaults door. So I could go back and forth between the two.

The problem is when I use the hatch and end up in the new vault area, only the door is there and the rest of it is just infinite space. For some reason I can't get the whole area to show up. I'm pretty sure I did the navmesh properly. Anyone have some possible solutions?

The navmesh is for NPCs to use the area. It tells them where in the cell they can go. Try setting up a room marker the new area. Maybe double check all the alignments for you walls and such. Can you walk into the infinite area or do you just teleport back to the door?

Here's what it looks like when I take the hatch into the infinite zone:

Here's what the map looks like in GECK. A simple hallway with a bend, a couple lights and a jukebox aligned against the dead end wall.

Is that pic BEFORE you enter the room or are you in the room looking back at the door?

If you want, send me your file and I'll check it out. I built my current mod and didn't run into that until I added room markers. PM me and I'll send you my MSN addy

I have had this problem before and usually its because the wall components aren't properly aligned, Check the seams around the wall and make sure they match up together and you can't see little gaps between them in the geck.

Good point. Making sure things are properly aligned can be a bit tricky. Snap To isn't always the best way to align (IMO). I find myself zooming in close quite often to get things absolutely perfect and moving them 1 pixel at a time... Otherwise you get graphics issues when entering that space. Flashing, edges disappear, voids where you don't want them. Can be a real pain...

genovauk, are you good at making new scripts? Maybe you could help me with my current hurdles... ATM I am at a stand still due to lack of knowledge. :(

I haven't exactly solved the problem. I started using command with coc to test my map, which is a nice little fix to get my stuff up and running without having to worry about porting it directly to the main world. So I can solve one problem at a time.

Make sure in the show hide menu you have room bounds turned on, if you have a room bound that is not set up properly it can make things vanish (but only visually the collision will still be there) If you have a room bound in the cell delete it. (there is a GECK Video tutorial about how to use those)
