Satoshi_Yuki
Im planning on working on making a mod the would create an entire new town to the games world more details on whats it going to be like later once I actually begin working on it but I plan on adding a questline to it as well as a new guild or two. Dialogue but Most likely no voice acting but for now i would need a few things if anyone would like to help id be gratefull and more then happy to give credit where credit is due at the moment I one of the things I need is a custom suit of guard armor using the vanilla oblivions chainmail armor but possibly a custom emblem that could also be used for the town
reaper9111
he he, Good Luck it took me more then 2 month for that...The Town of Coldstone Ontopic, It would help if you post a picture of what you would like to get.... Also, the problem is that everyone are working on they r own project..you would have more chance asking permission to use an already exsistant armor ! Vagrant0
The first mistake people often make is that they get ahead of themselves, getting concerned about minor details, such as armor, weapons, statics, and believing that they can't possibly have a mod without these things. Regardless of what the mod may be, so long as it isn't a pure resource mod, there are always significant parts of that mod which could likely be done without using any new resources, it may not look perfect, but you can go ahead and get that portion done to show people the concepts behind your project, so that they might have more interest, and maybe offer assistance. Making a town from scratch can take months if you're trying to do a good amount of detail, or longer if you're adding quests. If you are not already familiar with all the parts involved, like scripting, NPC packaging, interior and exterior works, will likely take even longer than that because you would need to learn these things. Often, despite whatever determination people claim, or how much they may say that they know what is involved time wise, the reality of the work sets in, and they lose interest or just give up. Modding is hard. Making large mods is even harder. I'm not trying to discourage you, despite all this, there are those who have the fortitude to stick with a mod that has been dragging on for months. I am mentioning this because you must consider what importance that resource you requested will have during those months of work, where completion is not always a state people reach. When building or working, guards don't need special armors to look special, they just need something which signifies them as guards, such as heavy armor, just something that can do the job for now, and can be changed out later. Linking one armor mesh with another is a very minor task, and it is almost certain that as you work on your mod, and develop everything in it, you will have a much cleared idea of what exactly is needed so that it can be used right away and released, instead of sitting around on your hard drive for several months while you try to get the mod to some playable state. Who knows, durring those months, you may come across some existing resource that can fit with what you want, or even learn to do some texturing or mesh work yourself. The bottom line is that most people who can do this kind of work usually don't volunteer themselves unless they know that their work will go to definite use. Show them something that says that this project is getting done, and there will be more who would be willing to lend you the support you need to get the project done. Almost anyone can come forward with some great mod idea, very few can manage to pull any part of that off.
Satoshi_Yuki
Well if youd like.. Maybe try something like mythril armor instead.. but The kind of emblem Im looking for some some kind of cave creature of maybe a Wyvern or a Pheonix but for now theres no need to work on it since it could be a while before i get close enough to even needing the armor because what im looking to create is to be an underground sitting the Idea came to me from Mr_Siiika's Dwarven city but more so like your in a cavern Id love if i could create a giant city like that but still that could be a while So no need to work on it. And sorry about not providing an image i couldnt find one and I probly would but I guess im getting ahead of mysef asking for resources As for What Vagrant0 said i understand thats why Im asking if anyone offers help Id ask them to hold off since Id hate for them to create something for this mod and it never gets released So.. Really id love to do this mostly so to bring something new for me and anyone who still plays oblvion to do but also partly to prove to myself that I can do this to prove to myself that I can stick to something this long time of a project because I know i can but i need to prove to myself that I can do something when things get tough and i dont know how or what to do to know that i can continue and bring it to a finish even if its not exactly what i had hoped to create and not stop right where i am and give up. I have many ideas that could create great mods but as said By reaper9111 people are working on their own projects and because of that i thought id give creating a mod myself a try the most of ive so far was create a house and raise the value of items (but never uploaded the esp) but really nothing ever this big as im looking to work on now
