Gussak
hi! Many ppl always wondered why NPCs cant jump over small obstacles, be them followers or foes... I thought, if there could have a system that tracks the last 10 seconds of player movements, such recording could be imitated by followers and foes to improve overall gameplay! Any idea on how to track player movements? I think it should record position, speed, movement direction and jumps (and jump height), but even if it would land somewhere else, the landing spot would have been recorded and restored on the NPC! MostlyMuggie
I also have noticed that NPCs can't jump and do things like the player. They run into walls trying to get to the player. Bethesda boasts about how their AI is so advanced, yet it seems like the same basic core as Morrowind, or even Daggerfall. Other games like Half Life and Half Life 2 seem to have much more advanced AI way back then than the current Elder Scrolls games. I think this is a problem with their outdated and buggy engine. I am not sure if it is possible, but your idea could solve the problem partially without having to rewrite the entire AI.
