What happened? I used to have a dependable and reliable load order. I play on a an Xbox one X , and after the last two Bethesda updates to the game, I CTD when performing the most mundane actions. I CTD when I sleep. I CTD when I barter. I CTD when I look at my own inventory. I CTD when entering a new cell. The simple act of entering or exiting any building will result in a CTD 30% to 40% of the time. A game I could play for hours on end without any issues has now become unplayable due to these updates. I guess Bethesda did such a good job with Fallout 76 they must have decided to " fix " Skyrim. To be clear these updates were made well before AE edition. I still have 2.5 gigs of unused memory, and I am CTD all the time. Help !!!.

Be warned, I do not use Xbox at all, so this is just a wild guess.

Can you verify your game files from Xbox, like you can on Steam? If so, maybe you should try it. The mods you use on Xbox might have auto-updated, and are no longer compatible with pre-AE (v. 1.6+). If verifying works like on Steam, your game will update to v. 1.6+.

All my mods came from Bethesda via my x box. As far as I know none of the mods are bad mods or corrupted in any way. I was under the impression that if a mod had come from the official Bethesda site it would have already been scrubbed and cleaned by Bethesda. That may not be the case, but the mods I use are all very mainstream, nothing wacky, nothing weird. My old load order worked just fine. Could the crashing be a hardware issue?

AFAIK, anything stored in memory can become corrupted over time. Bethesda mods are not necessarily cleaned, since their own system doesn't get affected in the same way as third-party mods.

A hardware issue is possible, but I would have no idea how to check. Have you blown out your console with compressed air, and made sure that there is plenty of room for ventilation.
