eye candy vs. realism

I wonder, oh do I ponder, ponder do I oh if oh, if one might ever gather courage and of mind singularity

to beget such wondrous wonder, to start meshing, texturing, to ponder, to do what's a necessity

Would he step, step out, step on, out of the gray and onto a heroes trail?

Would he leave and would he enter, leave the masses and enter splendour?

Would oh would such a person be found? With time on hands and knowledge profound?

Oh I ponder, wonder do I, if one might ever create a set, a set of armour that would set his set far from the rest

Practical and yet still nice, a set that wouldn't make you think twice if a lingerie's look is an armours vice.

Oh and I also like(read: LOVE) the idea of making an armour composed out of plenty different but fitting parts preferably parts you could enchant. It would be possible with a little OBSE magic. Or even better! The enchantments could be automatic; dependant on how you combine your parts.

Then again: permutations anyone? But I think that once you've got the pieces done - mixing them up to form the combinations shouldn't be that time consuming.

I realize that this is a fantasy game, and I also realize that many of the female armours are impossible (realisticaly) but the spike heeled boots are also one of the things that drive me crazy. I found a nice plain pair of low heeled boots in the Goth Shop plug-in, and I use them with whatever armour I have chosen. There are several sets of armour that I can't use because I can't get matching boots :whistling: Silly, I know!!

Just a quick question for those looking for more realistic female armors. Is something like this http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u312/RG.../Warlord04c.jpg acceptable or is it still too revealing/unrealistic? Just wondering.

I personally think that's still way too impractical, even if it's not as over-the-top as many other female armors.

That exposed, unarmored belly just begs to be cut open.

So let me get this straight, she wears a chain shoulder guard and then for some oddball reason 2 steel disks on a leather strap for a chest guard and a thin steel plate around her stomach which appears to be held on with glue. That armor makes no sense at all. Way too impractical for the realistic crowd and not revealing enough for the sexy sexy people. An unsatisfying middle ground.

If you don't like the heals you can pull 'em out of the mod,

and replace them with low heals from vanilla or another mod.

Realistic fantasy. Fanciful realism. Eye candy. Love it.

Wait you can pull the high heels out of the mod??? HOW?! I want the vanilla! XD

I sort of wish there was a bit more realism. We all have these magic bags of holding that can hold a wagonload of gear that weighs as much as an ox. The backpack or pouch is not even visible on our characters! I think that is cheap.

I was amazed when I first started playing Morrowind to see characters in full armor swimming effortlessly in water (while carrying aforementioned bag of holding.) Sometimes mages go swimming. They usually aren't wearing the heavy suit of armor, but they often have long robes which would tend to tangle up the legs and slow down the swimmer, not to mention float up and fail to protect modestly.

I was sort of baffled that my metal armor and weapons would get beat to pieces and unusable, but my cloth shirt would never get damaged no matter how many times I was slashed by a sword.

My mage could also throw fireballs at anything and everything and never start forest fires or house fires.

I guess this is an unproductive line of thinking. I should just enjoy the games and try not to think too hard about them.
