Reason for the banPiracy of Skyrim Someone please help me!! Tl;dr:My game keeps crashing everytime an enemy becomes hostile and engages in combat. Background:I first noticed it during a custom quest in the mod "Helgen Reborn". In the 3rd or 4th main quest of the mod (busting a slave trade operation), I reached the targeted bandit site ("Orphan's Tear") when all of a sudden the game crashed to desktop as the enemy npcs noticed me and turned hostile. At first I thought the crashes were caused by discovering the new target location, but after testing other areas it became apparent that any enemy interaction caused ctd. When I use the console command tcai to turn off combat AI, the crashes stop. I can be recognized by an enemy, the enemy will turn "hostile" (appear as a red dot on the compass), but as long as it's not actually attacking anyone it seems the crash doesn't happen. As soon as I turn combat AI back on, instant ctd! I don't know if it's a mod issue or memory issue. List of mods:Here's my plugins.txt. I don't think I have anything too script intensive except Helgen Reborn. If it's memory, I'm not sure where to start looking. From what I've read, 15.7 mb isn't too bad for save file bloating; and I thought my "Posessive Corpses" mod would help manage clutter (it deletes disarmed weapons from dead npcs when the game removes their bodies and also cleans up zombie ash piles). But I don't know much about how Skyrim manages that stuff and I've read stranger things happening to peoples' games. If it's the mod, I thought maybe it might have something to do with the previous quest, which utilized a fighting tournament scenario that I'm guessing relied on a lot of modded script. I haven't done anything else ingame between my current quest and that last one. But what confuses me is that even when the mod is uninstalled, the crashes keep happening. In any case, this is the first custom quest mod that I've installed for this file. And everything about it was going smoothly right until this ctd happened. I'm discussing the problem with the mod author too; so far he's told me that it's not a common problem and must not be the mod's fault but rather an issue with memory or conflicting mods. So if anyone can give me insight into what I can troubleshoot or what I should look for, please let me know! I'd really appreciate it; this is incredibly frustrating and I'm at a total loss of how I should approach it. And thank you for taking the time to read my long ass comment! I've tried to keep it both concise and informative, but I've probably sacrificed the former for the latter.
