Fallout: New Vegas

Bethesda Softworks has unveiled a new Fallout title at a press event in London and said it will be developed by Obsidian.

Called Fallout: New Vegas, it's in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It's not a sequel to Fallout 3, but will be set in the Fallout universe.

Bethesda plans to show off the game later this year, with a release pencilled in for 2010. Expect more news as soon as we get it.

"It's not a sequel to Fallout 3, it's just another game in the universe, and it has no impact whatsoever on whatever Todd Howard and his team are working on," said Pete Hines.

"We approached Obsidian and they were, like, yeah. That was a pretty easy conversation. It's not Fallout Tactics, it's not Brotherhood of Steel; it's another RPG."

Fallout: New Vegas

Yessss...

Obsidian Entertainment

Noooo!

You do realize Feargus Urquhart, Chris Avellone and Chris Parker, who are bigshots at Obsidian also were really important people at Black Isle when they made Fallout 1+2?

Plus KoToR was awesome.

Well that was my first impression. I'm aware that some, but not many former Black Isle crew are now in Obsidian. Kotor 2 (the first one was made by Bioware) was ok, but it wasn't a great game.

People from Black Isle is working on Obsidian? That's good. But that doesn't mean ol' good Black Isle is back at Fallout, though it would be fabulous.

However, I do have faith. We'll have to wait till we get specific news and images to give a solid judgement.
