eleglas
I was trying to add some navmesh to Megaton for a snipering post with 3 snipers in it, however, something went wrong I kept getting errors when I saved and when I loaded the game it immediatly crashed when I loaded a save, I was forced to remove ALL navmesh from Megaton as I am NOT just gonna remove that plugin as it has loads of my own stuff in it. The error said there was 399 errors which I don't see how, I placed 20 triangles at most. Does anyone know how I can fix this cause now no one moves in megaton and its really weired I want to get the navmesh back, but I also want to be able to keep my plugin, thanks for the help. eleglas
none of the ones I placed, I can't check all 399 triangles that are supposedly wrong.
Buttitchski
none of the ones I placed, I can't check all 399 triangles that are supposedly wrong. How did you place your triangles? You should place one triangle and then work off of it, using two of it's vertex to make the next triangle. Meaning, once a triangle is placed you should then only be placing one more vertex to create the next using two from the firts. Another thing to watch for is WHERE the vertex are placed. It is very easy to place a vertex on an effect and not realize it isn't on the ground. The navmesh will complete the triangle but it will not be navigable because it isn't placed correctly. I apologize if you knew this already, just trying to help. Another question. Did you duplicate the cells Megaton uses and then start to mod it? If so, did your new navmesh parts attach to what existed already? The navmesh needs to be one continuous connecting set of triangles. Another thought is, you do not need a navmesh if the place your creating is for your (player) use only. The navmesh is so NPCs can navigate the new space. If you do not want them to access your sniper post, don't navmesh it. One last thought, if you created a new cell, then deleted the entire navmesh, the only way you'll ever get anyone to move in town again is to re-navmesh it.
