Save my mod!

Still getting a handle on FO3Edit, but have gone through all the resources looking for any red conflicts and there are none. There are a few green items, resources in the master file that I didn't realize I'd modified, though there's apparently no conflict in those edits. All the same, the only other thing I can think of to try is to go through all those green items and try to restore them to match the master file. Any other ideas...?

Eureka! FO3Edit to the rescue! Hopefully someone else can learn from my eight hour mess of troubleshooting...

Even though FO3Edit didn't find any conflicts, I went through looking for any instance where my mod was overwriting content from the master file (these items show up green to indicate that something is replaced, though no conflict is detected). In the column view, you've got the master resource side-by-side with the resource that differs in your mod and you can easily drag and drop from the master to the mod to essentially restore that resource to its original state, as per the Fallout3.esp. I did this for any instance where I'd accidentally modified the game's content, rather than creating my own IDs.

Obviously, if you intend to modify the game's resources rather than creating your own then this can be tricky, and would have to be done in smaller stages so that you can isolate exactly which modified resource is causing the crashes. Worth mentioning that (at least for me) the changes I made in FO3Edit would not appear in Fallout unless I quit FO3Edit before launching.

Thanks to everyone for their help! It may have taken me eight hours to weed this problem out, but it was much better than throwing away the 300+ hours I've put into this mod.
