Duefaku
I've recently experienced an issue with the New Vegas merchants in that I can no longer barter with them. This is a recent (in in-game time, as a few months back I stopped playing because of it and forgot about it) event, and one that affects presumably all merchants in game (I have only tested Cliff Briscoe, the Gun Runners Vendertron, Quartermaster Bardon, and the Great Khan Armorer.) I believe, as an idiot who doesn't understand FNVEdit all that well, that it could possibly be an issue with the leveled lists of a mod's .esp and .esm being almost the same. At least from the screenshot here: http://imgur.com/BOIC31r My Load Order (That's been BOSS autosorted.) is as follows: http://imgur.com/o9mVuS1 New Vegas Tweaks.esp is a mod by myself to up the durability of the Vault 34 Security Armor, and Lonesome Road Tweaks.esp removes the Night Vision effects from the Riot Gear helmet (and it's variants,) No Pip-Boy Glove.esp and Auto Aim Tweaks.esp are renamed mods (probably due to OCD) but do what it says on the tin.(By auto aim tweaks it means it practically removes it entirely. You might be thinking "There is no auto aim in New Vegas. What have you been smoking?" Google it, I don't feel like explaining it right now to be honest. Also I've got a doctor's appointment later, I have to be fairly concise.) I've tried the following solutions: Waiting 4 days (To be safe it was a whole 3) in-game for merchants to restockAutosorting with BOSSMaking a separate .esp of the .esm to delete the reference of the AMMags and AMSupressor and leaving it only in the original .esp of the mod creator. This has been unchecked in the NMM and deleted. (I'm terrible at this stuff. But desperate.)Changing the level at which the .esm's AM Mods appear (I haven't tried the .esp's.) This was never saved. I think. If it was I reverted it somehow, because the changes haven't stuck.Flat out deleting the .esm's reference (Again, not tried with .esp. I feel really stupid for deleting the .esm's instead the .esp's copy. Feel free to ridicule.) This was also never saved. Creating a Merged Patch with FNVEdit (The merged patch was added after the load order image, you can see it in the first screenshot)FNVEdit Master Update (I'm not even terribly sure what it does, but it didn't work so I restored it. I feel like a noob for saying that now.)Manually dragging the WME .esps (what I believe to be the problem) down the bottom of my load order using NMMUpdating the WME mod (It hadn't been updated since installation.)So basically I messed around with stuff I didn't know what I was doing with. They haven't been saved, though, or are currently running with the game. So I think I'm in the clear now. And back at the drawing board. There's also some more conflicts with my mods, but I believe most of them are inconsequential: http://imgur.com/a/5sYct Anyway, back on the topic of leveled lists and mod incompatibilities. If you notice in the first screenshot I posted, there are two red instances of both CustomAMMags and CustomAMSupressor. I'm thinking those could possibly be the conflict making my game CTD when I try to barter. But what's different with them compared to the other yellow duplicate instances? And how would I get them yellow, and under the "Merged Patch for Broken Merchants.esp" column? Are the .esp and .esm really causing it by being incompatible with eachother in the case of these two weapon mods?Does the merged patch leaving it's column empty remove the weapon mods' references from my gaming causing further CTDs?Is it possible to clear the merchant's inventories if this is fixed and let them restock in 3 days, to be safe? (They sometimes retain things you sold them on the previous stock rotation.)Why the hell does the game give up and shut down when it gets an error instead of just deleting the erroneous item and moving on? Not to mention not giving a crash report. Is there anything else you need to know? This has gotten into a bit of a ramble, and I apologize. I've been writing for nearly 45 minutes now. And I have to leave, but I'll be back around 6-7pm US Eastern. But the bottom line is, can someone help me fix this? Update: So apparently, launching New Vegas using just the NVSE Loader fixes the problem. Using FNV4gb with NVSE's compatibility patch doesn't work, even with FNV4gb on "Run as Admin." I've tested using the two together, and NVSE works (Both the weapon mod menu and "getnvseversion" in console.) just fine. I have no idea why FNV4gb would do this, if you know please tell me. Update again: It's hit or miss apparently. I started up NVSE again and it didn't work. Then I enabled Run as Admin and then it worked. Then I reloaded the save, and it didn't work. Update yet again: I believe the hit or miss thing is due to the game loading the conflicting items when I go to the merchant (who has to be interacted with to restock. Or something. There's a thing about force restocking merchants by saving and quitting n stuff. Anyway, I think when it works it just doesn't have the AMSupressor or AMMags.)
