ugrids causes crashes

Hello all,

I have installed NMC texture packs(max res.), yet the buildings look poor. I heard that by increasing the uGridsToLoad, it is possible to increase visibility. So, I tried that, if i set it to 9(or higher), the game crashes. I did make sure to increase the int. and ext. cell buffers to 6 and 72 respectively, also I increased the iPreloadSizeLimit, Though these only make the crash earlier( sometimes even during loading). Looking at the physical memory usage, I see that it gets to 3Gb, the game crashes and the memory usage drops to 1.4(or something around that). I find this weird, since I have 4 Gigs of RAM. I am considering 4aces textures stuff(he claims to increase beauty for far buildings). Fixes for my problem(or other ways to make buildings nicer)would be sincerely appreciated. Also an opinion on 4aces textures would be nice.

Hi. From what I've heard in hanging around various forums, the functions you edited can kill your saved games. I would try to return them to their native values and then load the game again. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

 

P.S. 4aces texmesh and textures are genius, give them a try if you get the game going.
