Attention GECK Experts!

Hello to all you talented modders.

Let me start of by saying how completely blown away I am by the quality of the stuff all you guys are making. I'm checking Fallout Nexus several times aday to stay updated on what's coming. I think I have 30 mods or so installed right now.

But now, to the bussiness at hand. ;)

I make machinimas. Movies created by using footage shot in a game engine. More specifically, I make machinima based on Fallout 3. Mods have greatly helped my work, but there are a couple of things they so far haven't been able to help me with.

First Request

Dialog. I wish to record lines, and then have NPCs read them out loud, but not while in conversation mode with the player, because I want complete control of the camera. On top of that, I wish to show some emotion in their faces.

Now, since I've played the game, I know that this is all possible. Bethesda has made the NPCs really life-like in my opinion. I just don't know how to do it. Yes, I could mess around with the GECK untill I finally got it right, but I already have my hands full. Would anyone take this challenge upon themselves?

Taken care of by: necKros and Attentater5

Second Request

Basically, I would like my character to carry one weapon in his hands, while having another one strapped to his back. I suspect this could be done by someone who knows NiFSkope. Couldn't you turn a weapon into an apparel that is worn like a piece of clothing, and has the same position as a normal weapon when it is holstered on your back?

Specifically, I'd like this weapon, to be wearable: The silenced MP5A4 with an ACOG scope.

Taken care of by: ....you? :whistling:

So, would anyone out there like to help me create an awesome series of short movies based on Fallout 3? They will have style, and they will have substance. They will have action, and they will have depth. You will ofcourse be given kudos in the credits.

The first episode is already shaping up nicely, and here is a shot from it.

Additionally, you can check out the first movie I made. It made it into the top 10 at the Ivy Film Festival Machinima Contest 2009.

Now, this was the first movie I ever made, and it was very much a learning process. So trust me when I say the next one is going to be bigger, better, and more badass. 8)

Totally cool!! Can't wait to see what you plan next.

Would be absolutely awesome to have them as features at the Seward Sqr Broadway Cinema the only functional movie theater in the Wastes.

:thanks:

And hey, that WOULD be cool. I've heard of the mod, but haven't tried it out yet. Good idea.

It's an awesome mod. Well put together. I look forward to seeing your features there...

BTW, is that your voice? Sounds good, fits well with the movie.

yeah nice lol flick indeed... liked it...

problem with dialogues as you want them is that we dont have a working tool yet to create the *.lip files which make the lips move while they speak, the GECK is broke somehow, might be possible tho that some kind of 3rd party tool might do that for you...

as to have the npcs speak you might want to give a look at the GECK wiki which has some tutorials about it, you basicly could make a dialogue which resembles the situation in which npc talk to each other

you just need to find somin that triggers them speaking, like a conversation, the talktoplayerthing, a shootout or somin

id really like to help with this one as it looks interesting indeed but im too busy with my own stuff still, sorry

but if you have questions id be honored to help out with somin like that

I really liked the Excecution. How did you do the poses and the suicide bit at the end? That was really well done. Se I always wanted to make a machinma with fallout 3 just don't know how or what mods to use ect to make it easier.

Really nice clip.

I'm able to create lip files, through the TES CS 1.0 workaround, which is tedious, but I managed to make it the fastest possible. I can help if you want. With clear and clean audio files the lip files look decent ingame.

Also, yeah, you can make npc talk at your command with some scripting.

Fantastic! Thank you! :D You really made my day. Can you add some emotion to their faces also? I don't expect complex animations ofcourse, but some NPCs look angry or afraid when they talk to you in the game.

I will get back to you when I have recorded some lines. Would you perhaps also be able to help out with the scripting?

I used Backsteppo's excellent mod "Some Poses". And I then used the console command "tfc", to go into free camera mode. I hope that will help you on your way. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
