TheTruthBetween
Okay, so, about a year ago, I got a new computer. I installed Oblivion, along with all the mods I had installed on my old computer, and fired it up to play. I immediately noticed something was up. All the characters, from my character to all the NPCs (people, creatures, everything) move WAY too fast. I'm 99.9% certain it's not a mod issue, as I don't have any mods installed that are different from what I had on my old computer. The only thing that I can think is that the fact that the new computer is more powerful is messing with the game. Old Comp:CPU: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2330 @ 1.60 GHzRAM: 2 GBHDD: 160 GBGraphics: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family (8 MB dedicated, 350 MB shared) New Comp:CPU: Intel Core i3-2120 @ 3.30 GHzRAM: 6 GBHDD: 1 TBGraphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 (1 GB) If anybody can help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated. UltharSeramis
Hi, I not certain about this, but do you play on an old save or on a new one. With old saves there is a bug (called the Abomb) that occurs when playing a long time on a save-game (about 200 or 250 hours I think). This bug will cause every animation to play much too fast. This bug will have influence on ALL animations not only on characters. So look around for other animations (for example fire animations...) and see if they are also too fast. If so, you can use Wrye Bash to repair the Abomb.Apart from this, I am kind of sure that your computer is not the problem. I am playing Oblivion on a computer that is even faster than yours and I dont have this kind of problem. I hope I was able to help you a bit. Greatings, Ulthar. severr
List all the mods that you use in their current load order...
TheTruthBetween
Heh. Well I totally forgot about this thread. Anyway, Ulthar, I use new saves, and it's not all animations that's sped up, just NPC movement. Severr, I don't have a load order currently, as I'm in the middle of switching over to using NMM instead of manual install, so I'm uninstalling the game completely and reinstalling. However, a couple months ago, I went through, using a save in the middle of the IC market (so I could see how fast people were moving easier), and started from fresh, no mods, and checked it with every single mod. What I noticed was that the movement got progressively faster, the more mods I had active. Once I get everything reinstalled, I'll add my load order to the thread. thmtrxhsu
This can happen if iFPSClamp or any other FPS clamper i.e., oblivion stutter remover, if any of them are set to less than 30 i.e., 25 then characters will be faster then you because the engine runs at 30 frames per second, so if set to 25 fps that additional 5 fps gets added to all characters speed including you though because the human speed with with hid (human input device) is the same, the illusion is that only they are faster. I personally set the clamp to 33; gives some result for the steed birth sign without leaving enemies in the dust like 35 would do and does not make combat overly easy like 35 would, 32 is perfectly challenging but I find you don't get any distance from the enemy even though logic dictates you should have some advantage with the steed birth sign.
