Balkhan1
Is anyone familiar with NPR's Diano Armor 2 mod? When installing (omod) you get the "esp files in subdirectories" "packed in a non standard way" message. And the readme says "Please overwrite File because same File though the superscription message appears." Can anyone tell me how to install this mod? Thanks! EDIT: what is the best way to see what a mod conflicts with?
BossDweebe
The message would be correct.I always advocate studying the read me, and folder structure of a modrather than the quick and "easy" - extract to your Oblivion folder, which, even when it works, often leaves your game cluttered with unnecessary files.ie. - jpg's and read me's. - When it doesn't work it leaves you scratching your head.It is far better to extract the mod to a special folder outside the game and then installthe mod from there, and save the Zip - you may need it later, and it may become unavailable. So look at the mod - find the esp and place it where all the other esp's are. Then if the mod also has sub-folders that have their own name (a good way to packagefor easy removal and trouble shooting) then be sure that sub-folder is placed in the appropriate main folder. ie. - Meshes/(this mod folder name). Balkhan1
OK but I was under the impression that if I just manually install it can cause conflicts (obmm checks conflicts before install). I don't know how to check for conflicts myself and am afraid it will screw up my data folder. Don't want to install the data folder again!
BossDweebe
O.K. - I think I am getting the picture.Just noticed your name on both posts. If the mods work then don't worry about the conflicts. Most conflicts are not a problem. It is confusing terminology.Read the section in OBMM in relation to this. (It may be in the read me or in the program) EDIT - Always manual install
