Windows 7 (build 7057) and Oblivion

It worked wonderful for the 80 first hours of play only crashing the regular CTD outofmemory (which is acceptable after 2+ hours of play).

after this, when I am in wilderness it may crash showing corrupted green squares all over screen and choking the last sound made in a deafening loop.

on a somewhat unrelated note :

the same issue I have with fallout 3 and the "wilderness" (exterior), although there it just freezes and stops sound without showing any display corruption.

if I may have your suggestions :thanks:

p.s.

gta4 and empire total war have no such issues.

Yes, and a highly successful beta so far. I never tried vista. This feels as fast as XP and it supports all new stuff, so I love it. I have found no bugs in my month of testing save the ones with oblivion and fallout.

allow me to supply you with links if you want to try it

I used a torrent to get the latest build

edit :

this is a different kind of beta, it's very strange but I trust it. and it's free untill august :) let me say again other games like fear 2, gta 4 empire total war have had no probs on my comp in windows 7. and it did run oblivion 80 hours + without trouble

I hope you like it :)

as for my issue

I have 40+ mods including heavy ones like blood&mud, oscuros overhaul, animated window lighting system, all unique landscape mods, natural habitat, dmc stylish specialanims, mayus animation overhaul, quarl's many texture packs, body replacers, etc etc

but i used all these mods since hour 0 of the game I am playing now. so they have worked with the game for the 80+ hours I speak of

tedious be bug squashing..

I guess so, :thanks: for the input.

My issue with this solution is that it can take from 1 to 30 minutes for it to crash outside. it would take me days to test it properly without screwing up my save. I pray this is not the answer, although it is the most logical step I must admit.

maby it's something which fallout also is suffering from since it has a similar crash in the same "wilderness", and I never solved that problem.

my wildest theory is the sound drivers. as some people have posted on forums issues with their sound driver and exterior cells (wilderness) in win7.
