Reduced zoom on npc (working).

Sorry in advance if this has been posted before (all searches seem to point to the Oblivion forum)

I find it very annoying the way your view zooms into the person you are talking to in Fallout 3, just like I did when I was playing Oblivion. Some of you may remember the reduced zoom fix for Oblivion which involved an .ini tweak. fDlgFocus=10.0000 was the setting I used and that took the amount of zoom to practically nothing. After looking at the Fallout.ini I found that this line was not included and so decided to add it anyway. The line I use is "fDlgFocus=15.0000" and it is placed under the [interface] section of the .ini immediately under the line "bUseImageSpaceMenuFX=0" so...

[interface]

.......

bUseImageSpaceMenuFX=0

fDlgFocus=15.0000

This has reduced the ammount of zoom to a very small amount which I am very happy with. However, the setting also seems to have had an affect on VATS, where the target is also zoomed out to some degree, and my hud momentarily reverts back to it's un-modded default (i.e. large) setting. I am quite happy with this though as it does not seem to cause any major problems. As always, be sure to make a back-up of your .ini before trying this tweak.

During VATS use, my hud reverts back to default size and the VATS target is zoomed out slightly more than before the .ini tweak.

What's the default value, since that entry is not included in the default .ini?

As there is no entry in the default .ini there is no default value so to make the value default simply remove the line altogether. The default value in Oblivion was fDlgFocus=2.1000. This may not apply to Fallout 3 though. What I do know is that the higher the value, the less zoom you will encounter. Experiment until you find a value that suits your needs but ALWAYS make a backup.
