Those console fanboys who tell you they have better graphics have never seen Oblivion on a Hi rez 25 inch wide screen monitor and some of the mod texture enhancements installed. Or heard the sounds of Oblivion from a 5.1 audio system piped through a fully amplified surround sound system.

Of course, a cheap off the shelf PC with the minimum specs will still look and perform like a cheap PC with minimum requirements. If you can, get one that can really do Oblivion right.

Here's a good comparison for this (360 vs PC graphics) - the gist being, 360 is better than lower end PC, slightly better than/equal to a mid-range, and a high-end PC laughs at the 360 :)

And here is yet another Bonus: I can get rid of Effects i can do without. Like the Flickering Lights. In my Opinion they are useless and the Game doesn't look worse. They eat up Performance like crazy.

Gras is another thing. If you have a mod for lower Polygons in the Grass People won't even notice.

So you can can reduce Special Effects you don't like in Order to make the Things you do like run exactly as smooth as on the Xbox on a fairly crappy machine by today's Standards.

Or if you have a midrange machine, you can have flickering Lights turn off while the "Ilumination from within" enchants you, while xbox users have to stare at the Darkness.
