darklordofthemonkeys
Ok Im really really dumb when it comes to computers and such so Im not really sure of what Im doing but i think I have mastered the mod installing. What I dont know how to do is install meshes and textures. I tried to install the "Apachii Godess Store" mod and the store was there but the PPL in the store are just faces, there were yellow (!) every and while you can spend your money there sre no icons next to what you buy and when you try them on you disapper. After an hour of reading comments and readmes i figured out that it was do to the fact that I had not installed the meshes and textures but nowhere did it say how. I tryed puting the folders in the data uh, place, like you do the ESP things but that didnt work. I tryed puting in each (I think its called a NIFfile) of those things that have the paper with a folded corner icon, but that would have taken hours. Im a noob I dont really know what all those big (or little for that matter) terms mean or are so if im just beyond all hope I understand. Thax for any help you can give. BossDweebe
Im not really sure of what Im doing but i think I have mastered the mod installing. A contradiction in terms. You cannot master mod installing and not be sure of what you are doing. I'll start with the most popular method as stated in most read me's. It goes something like"just extract to your Oblivion Data folder, and if prompted to overwrite click OK".Then you activate the mod in the Oblivion launcher.(It is best to get OBMM and use it to activate and set load order. It does archive invalidation too.) This is one way, but it may be too late for you in this instance. I prefer installing manually as follows: Extract the mod to a folder somewhere outside your game (name it what you like). Now open the mod in one window and your Oblivion Data folder in another. Line them up side by sideand click through the folders of the mod. Compare these with the Oblivion Data folder. You will find that the esp's belong in the Oblivion\Data\. There should also be a folder called meshes and one called textures. If not, put the corresponding foldersfrom your mod in the Data folder, then activate the esp. If there is a Mesh and texture folder then open one. Then open the same one in your mod. If you open the mesh folder you may see several others folders. Again compare these withthe folder structure of the mod. You mod may have folders of it's own ie. - "This mod".Then you would have - Data\Meshes\This mod. OR - it may be something like Data\Meshes\Architecture\Store.The last folder in line will have the files the mod needs to work. If there is already a "Store" folder I usually select all the files in the mod and drag and drop them to the folder in the Oblivion game Store folder. If not then I drag and drop the new folder in.The same with textures and any other folder types - (music, Distant LOD, etc.). If this isn't clear as mud the look through some pinned forum topics until it is.One last thing - go slow, be precise.
