flostudio01
Dear all, Hello ! :) I have an issue. I just got Windows Seven 64bits and I installed it on my D: device. So I have windows XP 32 bits and Seven 64 bits.Skyrim was on XP and I installed it on Seven. Everything OK. But I would like to use the files of NMM in the C: device (the one with XP). Not possible.Even if I use the same NMM of XP by using Seven, or installing NMM and using the same folders, I can't have the mod list  I have a lot of installed mod, I just would like to use the mods on my XP in my Seven. Is it possible? How to do it ? Thank you in advance  Edited October 29, 2013 by flostudio01
bben46
It may be possible, but I imagine it will cause some strange things to happen. It's best to install NMM in the OS that your games are in otherwise the NMM will not be able to find them. But it would be easily possible to install a second NMM in the other OS - but they will not be linked -so, if you have Oblivion and Fallout3 on your 32bit Xp and Your Steam games Fallout NewVegas and Skyrim - on your Win7x64 - you would manage the games on the XP drive with the NMM on that OS, and the games on the Win7 drive with the NMM there. Yes, you will have to reboot to change from XP to Win7 each time you change games. The alternative is to put them all on one OS - I recommend the Win7 if you go this way. Unless you have some legacy program that will run under XP but not Win7 - there is no reason to not reinstall everything to the Win7.
Thandal
bben is correct, you should simply re-install NMM under the second OS. I run a triple-disk, triple-boot rig. Win8 Pro/64-bit, Win7 Home Premium/64-bit, and WinXP Pro/32-bit. While each of these can "see" the files on the others, those aren't integrated with the OS (or games) of any but the one on which they are installed. So you can have two instances of NMM, one under each OS. But you'll need to configure each one independently.
