Thor.
Rumours of a 6gb model to come out soon after. Also Heat and power draw the gtx780ti wins and noise ratio. Edited November 7, 2013 by Thor.
Miguelr23
im actually thinking about buying a new rig in December with a r9 290(non x)its cheap performance its superb and somehow it overclocks a lot better than the 290x with stock cooler...usually the best oc from amd cards comes from sapphire toxic(it also has a superb 3xfan cooler)nvidia has a very nice new card but i agree with you its overpriced as ****imo the r9 290 made gtx 780, titan and r9 290x obsoleteThor indeedthere are also rumors about a black gtx 780 ti(ghz?)with 6 and 12gb!knowing nvidia it expensive as hell
Thor.
The Twelve would be insane, considering the next gen have Eight in all, so that would already surpass anything this gen coming out uses. Nvidia drivers i miss the most.
spookycandy
Personal opinion? It's an ugly card. I'm very much interested in aesthetics when it comes to graphics cards and red on black looks better than green on gray to me. The colors and the entire contours of the red stripes on the R9 290 look powerful (although that's still crap), the colors and their shapes on 780 Ti are too basic and simple so it just looks bland. The cooler shape and general idea is pretty much the same but the color scheme is god awful. I wish Nvidia and AMD would look back in time and see how the old cards looked like, there were guns and fire and pictures and lots of colors and great-looking feature ads, they looked awesome! So what the hell is this then, where did the awesome go?!?! And here I am rejoicing that those old designs have been rejected in favor of better cooling  I have a GTX 780. The 780ti is not worth the money, in my opinion, due solely to its memory. I use multiple monitors. Games are starting to get more VRAM intensive. If a $700+ card doesn't have at least 4GB of VRAM, I think you're being ripped off. The GTX 690 is significantly better in terms of cost + longevity + performance. Now, if the 780ti releases a 6GB version I will jump on it faster than you can say Rumplestiltskin. So far no confirmation.

You have to take into account memory speed, the 780ti outperforms a 6GB VRAM Titan in 4k, it also is cheaper. The 690 only has 2GB of VRAM, it's two downclocked 680s, so I'm not sure where you're seeing a dual-GPU being a better deal than a powerful single GPU. After thorough examination of the benchmarks, I retract my claim that the 780 is worth less than the Titan/690. You win this round.
ermacos
Guys I have an update for my topic, because my distributor today, send me info about the cards, if there is any price difference, etc. Now I have to send them back my final choice and thats it... So here how it goes... GTX 770 by Gigabyte windforce 3x OC - I have to pay 36 euros Asus Radeon 280x Direct CU TOP OC - Its free of charge... 0 I also made a question about gtx 780 by ASUS direct CUii OC - 132 euros So, If I get 770 or 280x, I will buy 1 more card for sli/cf setup. If I get 780, I wont buy a second card, I will stay with a single card solution. So your final verdict is.... Werne
So, If I get 770 or 280x, I will buy 1 more card for sli/cf setup. If I get 780, I wont buy a second card, I will stay with a single card solution. So your final verdict is....770 SLI vs R9 280X CF vs GTX 780, and no R9 290? Son, I am disappoint. Anyway, knock out the 770, it's an old chip, putting them in SLI is like putting two Yugo engines into a Ferrari. So it comes down to R9 280X Crossfire vs GTX 780. While the Crossfire scales bad in some cases (just like SLI), benchmarks show R9 280X CF mostly beating a single GTX 780, except when they don't scale well. Higher temps that happen in CF/SLI configurations don't sound good though, but those benchmarks are run on the table, once in a case with good airflow there should be no problem in that regard. I don't know why people yap about heat, all you need is a well ventilated case but nooo... All in all, you're looking at Crossfire VS single card, 770s are not worth it. It all comes down to personal preference.
ermacos
I cant get 290 or 290x, its about heat, not computer heat but my house heat.. I will give you an example, at summer times my old gtx 480, produced up to 105c because of room temperatures! I had to run day and night air-condition be able to stay in the room!!! And gtx480 is cooler than 290 or 290x!!! So I cant, its allot of electricity at summer time, just for my gaming! At summer time, we may get up to 40-46c outside and inside about 50c if I run my pc all day (without gaming) If amd tells me that this gpu is 95c, at summer time is going to be like 110c and my room temps will increase up to 60c while gaming! Its extreme. I have experience and I know, its not that I dont like them, it is just to much. Edited November 14, 2013 by ermacos
